With the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus, you'll be amazed how much guitar you can buy for so little money - and the "Plus" after the name Standard, means that along with a Paul that Plays like a much more expensive Gibson (great for gigging without fear) it adds a visually stunning flame maple top. i just received my guitar yesterday, and I have to say WOW! This beauty plays soooo sweet. Great action, awesome sound and a great feel. You can play all the way up and down the neck and never hit a "... read more [+]rough" spot. The pickups sound great and I didn't have to do a single thing (other than retune). I would definetly recommend this baby to anyone wanting a great axe to play on. Awesome warm tones from this baby. And the finish was just gorgeous. I opened the box and was almost drooling from the reflection on the finish. Epiphone/Gibson...You have given a very good, cheaper version of the Gibson Les Paul to those of us who cannot afford the "real" thing. Thanks. close [-]

Just bought this guitar amonth ago. When I opened up the hardshell case they shipped it in I was blown away at the beauty of it. It is made very well for the price. I did the needed adjustments and... read more [+] found I could lower the strings to the frets with little buzz. It is very good for a rhythm sound and if you have the right pedal effects it's good for lead solo's also. I probably will change the pickups at a future adte and it will sound like a Gibson. The neck is a tad fatter than I like but, I'm getting used to it. My Srat has the narrow neck I like. For the price you can't beat this guitar if you've always wanted a Gibson Les Paul and can't afford the american labor cost ticket price. close [-]
