Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX at a Glance:
A Member of Epiphone's Prophecy Collection
Epiphone's Prophecy Collection Guitars might look familiar at first glance - indeed, they do feature such legendary body styles as the Les Paul and SG. Yet, these instruments boast innovative new components that set them apart from any Epiphone you've ever seen. First, depending on the model, they feature either EMG active, EpiActive, Gibson USA, or original Floyd Rose Tremolo-equipped pickups. Second, they each claim highly figured quilt Maple tops that give them the look and presence of other guitars well beyond this affordable price range. And as for the necks, they're what Epiphone calls SpeedTaper satin, complete with "blade" inlays across the 24 jumbo frets that almost invite your hand to glide across them. Plus, because these are Epiphone "Customs," their bodies and necks are all bound - an additional benefit at this modest price. And, finally, quality finishing touches include Epiphone's new Straplock system for worry-free playing, precision tuners, and, most noticeably, their gorgeous hand-stained colors.
Les Paul Body Style
The Les Paul body style is a legendary one - since its introduction, musicians of all genres and styles have fallen in love with its single cutaway, curvaceous body, and killer tone. This Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul boasts a highly figured quilted maple top for a Les Paul "look" that's sure to turn heads.
Active EMG-81/85 Humbucking Pickup Combination
The high-output EMG-81/85 humbucking pickup combination on this Epiphone Les Paul Custom EX is synonymous with serious tone. Great for heavy, aggressive rock, this guitar's electronics are also complemented by the Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-Matic stopbar system for even more sustain.
Epiphone Prophecy SG Custom EX Features:
The Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom EX is a modern version of the classic Les Paul!

Epiphone Hit A Home Run
by Billy from Tulsa, OKI have had a number of guitars over the years with many of them from Epiphones Les Paul line of products. This guitar is everything it was designed to be and more. This guitar is the best of everything. The neck is slim but still wide enough to not cramp your fingers, hand. If feels smooth and fast. It's actually amazing.

Hard to beat the EMG 81/85 Combo of Pickups in this beast. Only downfall for some might be one volume and one tone control but I have found no issue with this at all.
The Quilt finish on these guitars is beautiful. Mine has a hint of smoke gray, smokey but with the wood still showing some signs of the original wood color. It's amazing and this was done by hand staining the guitar so each one has a little different finish then the other. The binding, inlay's all look great and the fret work is better than any Epi I have had. They did a very, Very good job building this guitar. It's heavy coming in at about 9-10 pounds so a little more weight than your typical Epi Les Paul but it has looks that Kill.
This guitar is perfect for the person wanting heavy hard rock, speed metal sounds and tone. It's even better than my Duncan Loaded Blackouts LP. Just an amazing guitar all around. close [-]
