Never thought I would like it that much!

We can say this is a REAL Les Paul! I own this beauty for about 6 years now, keep liking it like the first day. I own 2 Les Paul by Epiphone, this one and a Standard. The Custom one has a fatter neck and feel very comfortable. I had different type of guitars in the past 17 years in similar price range or higher in dollars value and this one is my favorite by far. Like others said before me, I might get a Gibson one day but I kinda doubt that the money will make a big difference in quality and sound...

Sharp Dressed Man with my "Tuxedo"

Wow,what a beautiful guitar! Hard to beat white and black with gold accents. And that fat chunky tone that we love, lookout. I'm so pumped to start playing this fine piece of work, finally.Looked for a year, whittling through the miriad of axes out there deciding which one fits my budget, tone, and body style and that would of course be an Epi.Got a primo deal on my LP Custom and a Line 6 amp from a high school student who had knocked up his girlfriend and needed cash like yesterday to finance the bundle of joy.Right place at the right time man.I'm a beginner and was using my nephew's Epi Special to start learning on but felt I needed something with style and class to motivate me to want to practice and play. At 49 years old I figured its never too late to do something I've wanted to do since I was 13 years old.Hope this awesome guitar will help me get there.See you on the dark side of the moon!

Gorgeous Guitar!

I have owned this guitar for a year. I puchased the "Tuxedo" Alpine White. I was fully intending to purchase a Gibson LP. I talked myself out of that idea because I haven't been a gigging musician for some years. ( I had pawned my beautiful Gibby LP years ago and ending up losing it.) I just couldn't bring myself to spend a several thousand bucks if my music is now my hobby. So I purchased this guitar sight unseen and BOY was I blown away when I got it! Fit, finish is a Double A+. Binding, fretboard inlay, just everything stunningly beautiful. Now I am tuning it up and getting ready to play and I thought well I am sure it sound "okay." AGAIN, I was blown away! Here is the BIG LP Ballsy in your face guitar that I had in the past! For MUCH less money. Still not believing my ears, I have since played several Gibby LP's at a couple of local music stores and there is very little difference in sound, craftsmanship and quality. Like all guitars, they all can be a bit different. All I know is the one I got is screaming! I see no need to change out PU's, these are really nice. But on the other hand, if you are so inclined and want to drop a couple of Seymour Duncans or any PU's you may like, this is such a beautiful and well constructed guitar, it wouldn't be silly to invest in it. The weight of an LP is still there, I have not felt the Gibby and the Epi side by side but I would say the Epi is a a bit lighter but still heavy enough for that incredible LP sustain!

More than pleasantly surprised!

Expected it to be nice, but was I floored! First off, nice Epiphone hard-shell case. Then when I opened it had one those(singing in the background) moments! The finish was flawless, set-up was perfect, so after playing for close to 20 yrs., I had to plug it in to see if this was too good to be true. Expecting something to be even a little off, not a chance, it had the mellow tone you would expect, to crisp cleans, but what blew me away was the output when cranked. You always hear the first thing everyone does is change the pickups, to get that "Gibson" sound, this thing squealed like a pig, if that was my intention, no way are these getting changed! Like I said, I have played for some time, I have a PRS, and it has nothing, if not falling a little short to my Epiphone. I played some higher end Gibsons, but could not justify paying three times the amount for something that didn't sound as good as this one. Maybe I got lucky, but I have been reading nothing but good reviews from Epiphone owners. Mine also came with the Push-Pull set-up. My advice would be play as many as you can, and in some cases the guitar just might pick you! This much guitar for this price is mind-numbing, going to show, buy with your ears, and heart, with no preconceived notions going in!

The Only Electric Guitar I Need

Aside from the flashy looks, which is part of what drew me to this instrument at first, it truly has high-quality construction and tone. I've had my LP now for almost 4 years, and it just keeps sounding better every time I play. It holds tune extremely well, if it's set up correctly, of course. It has really nice pickups, which could easily and affordably be changed to more vintage or hotter Gibsons. I will probably do that eventually. The fingerboard is really comfortable for me, and the frets are low, allowing for low action and fast playing. I put lemon oil on it every time I change the strings. Another plus is that it has a solid mahogany body, but it still weighs just a little less than the Gibson. I've played the Gibson LP Custom in the store many times, and I honestly can't hear or feel a difference. So if you like Les Pauls, but can't afford the Gibson, you definitely won't regret buying this guitar.

Perfect Guitar

When I bought this guitar, I had in mind that I would someday buy the Gibson, but after owning this and playing the Gibson in a store, I couldn't tell the difference. With my Epi I can get that raw, in-your-face Les Paul tone I was looking for, and I have no plans to upgrade again, as long as I can keep the neck and body in good condition. The pick-ups are hot, the neck is smooth and comfortable, and I think this is the sexiest solid-bodied guitar ever made. Everything feels and sounds rock-solid. If you want a Les Paul, get this one.

You can tell the difference...

I have the custom plus.. got lucky and snagged the last one off sweetwater. I love the guitar, the feel of it, the sound.. everything. Its fantastic. I came up from a Samick Malibu and Les Pauls blow those suckers out of the water. The weight isnt even that big a problem unless your used to a one pound guitar.

Great!!

Bought this guitar recently and was pleasantly surprised. Seems to be very good quality. Fit and finish are supurb! Its a beautiful looking guitar. Pickups are not quite Gibson, but are good. Would be worth slapping some Gibson pickups in. Other than that this is a great guitar. I also have the Epiphone Standard Les Paul. This takes the looks way beyond. Really pleasing to look at.

sweet guitar

This really is one nice guitar. feels great, looks good, plays extremely well, and great sound especially for the price (a fraction of a gibson LP custom). The neck joint is a little thick for playing in that area without some practice, but overall real nice. the binding is a little sloppy, but barely noticeable. overall? great style, playability, and sound, what else can u ask for?

My Sales Engineer is the best. If I need it tomorrow, I have it tomorrow. He makes sure everything is in order and that I'm set up right. I've spent a lot of money at other places, too, but I don't remember them calling me to make sure everything's okay.
