Metal chassis, tube saturation, 707, 808, 909, Linn, DDD-1, what more could an electronic producer ask for? Well, FX, synths, multiple outputs, motion sequencing, arpeggiator, hard sounds, soft sounds, and the ability to completely sculpt what you want out of your track, what else could you ask for? A excellent studio tool, a live performance tool, a DJ compliment, step sequencing, realtime recording, the ability to add your own tubes. I use vintage and modern drum machines and I have to say the Korg Electribe EMX1SD is ALWAYS a pleasure to produce with and to perform live with. (Also, for an even MORE open sound with greater headroom on your tube saturation, you can also add a pair of Groove Tube 12AX7's.)
Customer Reviewsfrom January 22, 2013Music Background: Pro Musician, Recording & Live Sound Engineer Powerful Machine For ProducersI bought this machine after seeing other options that integrate a sequencer by steps and definitely this had no comparison because the EMX integrates 5 parts with different types of synthesis and an entire section for drum sounds. This make it very flexible and poweful. I am pleased with the samples included because it has some of the classical battery sounds, like Linn and all these vintage stuff, for example. This is an machine perfect for producers looking for creative options for creation.from Pittsburgh October 5, 2011Music Background: Production, Performance, Casual, Hobbyist, EMX-1 by KORGIn regards to the Electribe EMX-1;I've been writing loops in my DAW for years, but I'm also no stranger to using a hardware synthesizer, writing drum phrases on a sequencer, and creating song structure. This item has almost everything I'd like in a Workstation. The only thing that would make this unit the absolute beast would be the ability to upload your own audio files into it-- but I guess that's why they offer two separate units for this (ESX-1)-- so they didn't have to compromise the functionality of either unit. Motion Sequencing on this is an absolute dream for phrase expression, and the selection of filters lets you pull exactly the frequencies you want out of a sound. Overall, completely solid. What I was looking for. Just upset that I had to sell the KPPro to buy this.. within an hour, I could see where a KPP or a KP3 would REALLY complement this unit. In regards to Sweetwater; Justin (my rep) was the man. Unit shipped and was on my doorstep within 30 hours. They even gave me candy. |
