Customer Reviewsfrom Lucas,OH USA August 5, 2011 Music Background: singer songwriter quality madeI bought this guitar used at my local music shop. I'd been shopping around awhile was looking at some solid top fenders and seagulls till one day the salesperson pointed this used DR-500RNS out. I played it and fell I love. I've always wanted an all solid wood guitar and I had finally found it without having to spend a bundle. I would buy this guitar a hundred times more. The tone and construction are awesome. I highly recomend this guitar.from Norcross, GA USA September 30, 2008 Music Background: Hobbyist and amateur Fantastic Acoustic Guitar of very high qualityI won this guitar at a local music store and it inspired me to start playing again after years of not doing it. So far it's been great - the tone is superb, with bright highs and deep lows. The construction and finish are exceptional - the Grover “butterbean” tuners stay in tune and the neck is a great fit for my hands. The solid rosewood back and sides and the sitka spruce top make it sound really nice and warm and several friends who are local musicians have commented on how good it sounds. There were no flaws anywhere on it, and I practically went over it with a fine-toothed comb. I've been really impressed and it's certainly a guitar I'd buy again.Great product, and I was never really much of an Epiphone enthusiast before either, but I love this thing, and it's helping me to relearn everything I thought I'd forgotten! I love this guitar and highly recommend it. from Tacoma, WA September 8, 2006 Music Background: Intermediate guitar player My Move-Up guitarWhen I began to learn guitar at 41, I did not want to go all out and buy an expensive guitar and then not keep up the hobby. So I initially bought an Olympia OD-5 which was reasonable, but I did keep playing guitar and outgrew it. When I went to upgrade, I played a Taylor, Breedlove and this DR-500R. I fell in love with the DR-500R right away, especially the light action. I have been trying to work through the moveable fingerings in Fretboard Logic, and I just could not do it with the Olympia even with light strings. With this Epiphone I am able to play all kinds of chords that I could not play before. I also really enjoy the sound of this guitar. My friend who is an accomplished guitar player confirmed that this was a major step up. I expect to keep this guitar for many years. Oh, yes it comes with a very nice Hard/Soft case with a built in hydrometer.from Los Angeles September 18, 2006 Music Background: Singer/Songwriter SweetThis guitar is amazing right out of the box. The action is great, the neck is fast and easy to finger. The tone is unreal. I compared it to a Gibson J-45 and liked this better. The bass tones are moving, and the highs sparkle. This is truly a great guitar at any level. The only changes I made were strings, and a Fishman Matrix Natural II pickup.
