Customer Reviewsfrom Naperville, IL April 11, 2012 Music Background: guitar player An excellent choice for a pre amp tubeIn a pinch, I had installed a Boogie tube in my Bad Cat Mini Cat, and it was the wrong tube for the amp. I ordered a couple of these, popped one in, and I had my sweet, chimy little amp back. This tube is a nice choice for Vox-like lower gain amps. Might also work well in an amp where less pre-amp gain is desired.from Columbia City, IN March 2, 2010 Music Background: Instrumentalist, vocalist, electrical engineer, live sound engineer Good current production tube! And there aren't very many.I don't want anybody to think this tube isn't a good tube simply because I gave it a 3.5. I use a number of vintage NOS tubes from the 50's and 60's that go for $100-$200 each, and of course these tubes are what I would call "Wow!" category tubes. But this New Sensor Mullard is one of the top two 12AX7 current production tubes I've heard, not that I've heard them all. Most current production tubes, though, are real duds compared to my vintage tubes, but this tube holds its own pretty well against my 1960's NOS Mullards. It's not quite there, but it's still a good tube. Smooth and quiet. Nice tube for the money. |
