Great Set of Headphones
by Kevyn Wilson from Fort Wayne, Indiana. USA, January 2008
Music Background: Producer, Rap Artist.
I needed a new set of headphones after blowing one side of my old pair but I didn't have the money to step up to the HD280's or 7506's so I called my sales advisor and he told me to come in and listen to a few recommendations using some of my favorite music. So I did and when I tried these on I was blown away by how clear they sounded! I used the HD280's and 7506's as reference and these were very close in comparison with the only drawback being that these have a tendency to be a bit on the bright side.
I use these for recording and mixing when I can't use my monitors (because of the neighbors) in my home project studio so I needed something that was very accurate and natural sounding. These headphones help me get the job done and the slight brightness is actually helping me with my mixing as I have a tendency to boost my high end a little...
All in all, I could not have found a better pair of headphones for this price. These will hold me over long enough to get my hands on some HD280's or 7506's you will not be sorry if you buy these!
POWERFUL! Awesome Headphones!
by TRAXrock from Seoul, S.Korea, August 2006
Music Background: Sound Engineer
These headphones are amazing. Its like having subwoofers built into your headphones. The bass response is solid and is REQUIRED if you listen to techno, dance, trance, hip-hop, rock, or any other music that has an active bass line. The treble is also very sharp although the mids and lows seem slightly more pronounced. I wouldnt exactly call these DJ headphones (as they dont have 40mm drivers nor swivel cups), but for the money, these are your best bet. It was worth every cent. The cable is a bit long for personal use though, but if these headphones are used for studio monitoring, that shouldnt be a problem. These headphones do not enclose your ears, but it is comfortable, blocks lots of ambient noise, and is solidly built. Very powerful! Get it...no regrets!
live rig godsend
by Anonymous from Connecticut, September 2005
when putting together my portable road rig I needed 4 headphones that were A)easy to drive B)generous in cord length C)durable, durable, durable and D)punchy sounding (had to be closed back)
these were perfect because they have a great seal (perfect for when we record the jazz band in the church or in close quarters) that keeps the isolation high.
they sound punchy too- the bass is tight, the highs are crisp, and they really get the players moving because it sounds like they're listening to a CD rather than the ol' raw tracks.
i put four in a small bag (staggering them in a stack) and off we go. presonus 4-out headphone amp and we're good to go.
the drummer put a rough mix on his iPod right there at the church and listened to it on the 150's and loved the consistent sound. we brought the mix back to the home studio for mixing and it held up on the monitors!
my only negative is that they don't come with an individual case for each phone (a drawstring bag would have been nice).
