From Our Research Team:

A Custom Rendition of a Rock Classic!

The Gibson SG has been one of the guitar rock 'n rollers' mainstays since the beginning of the electric guitar. The Gibson SG is known for its sustain and great tone. Just ask Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath or Pete Townshend of the Who and the ledgendary Gibson SG Double Neck as played by Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin!

In the late 50's Gibson introduced the SG Series of solid body guitars. They had a rather thin twin horn body. This two horned body is what gives the SG more access to the higher frets on the fretboard (Could this be why people call guitars there AXE?) It had a somewhat sinister look to it so much so that Angus Young (of AC/DC) had Gibson make one with a lightning bolt. This is a 3-humbucker G-400 Custom SG from Epiphone.

Epiphone G-400 Custom SG Features:
  • Color: Antique Ivory
  • Body Wood: Mahogany
  • Neck Wood: Mahogany (set)
  • Fingerboard: Rosewood
  • Scale length: 24.75"
  • Nut Width 1.68"
  • Number of Frets: 22
  • Pickups: 3 humbuckers
  • Controls: 3 volume, 1 Tone
  • Pickup Switching: 3-way selector
  • Hardware: Gold
  • Bridge/Tailpiece: Stopbar

Yes this re-issue is indeed fantastic. While I have a $ 4,000.00 Vigier guitars, Gibson Les Paul custom , L5S, etc...Most of the sound I am known for is primarily in my hands and amps.

... read more [+] This makes the importance of Epiphone guitars more acute: they rival the best Gibson's very closely....No, they are not "the same", but they are on the same level of tone , craftsmanship and response, and if you have the talent, skill and experience to tell the difference, I recommend this particular model very highly.

It is not like a SG standard at all..It has it's own sound and character and it takes a bit of getting used to getting the secret tones hidden in the 3 volume design...But the prize is tones you cannot even come close to in a regular SG...Of course for rpfessional artists like myself that does not make it "better"...just very different and amazing! close [-]

Our Customers Say...

When it came time to start from scratch with the studio, I had a lot of questions. The Sales Engineers I've worked with are really friendly and patient, and the guidance they provided was invaluable; they basically helped build the studio.
