From Our Research Team:Beautiful Vintage-style Acoustic-electric!Stop scouring the pawnshops and grab a Takamine EG630S acoustic-electric guitar. For one thing, you just don't come across such wonderfully playable and sweet-sounding guitars everyday that give you the combination of a mellow cedar top and a bright flame maple back and sides. And even when you do, they tend to cost a fortune. But the EG630S doesn't stop there. This vintage-style acoustic also comes loaded with Takamine's legendary TP4T preamp and pickup system, which means you'll get the same rich and vibrant sound, even when you play plugged in. And with its violin finish, you'd swear this Takamine EG630S jumped right out of a vintage guitar magazine.Takamine EG630S Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:
Cedar topped maple provides a soft, bright, and naturally open sound The tonewood selection Takamine chose for the EG630S has been one that folk and old-time country musicians have been relying on since long before amplification could make up for any kind of lack of natural projection. That's because the EG630S's maple back and sides (gorgeous flame maple, in this case) are so dense that they resonate at an incredible volume, which is in no way hindered by the porous cedar top. The result is a loud, rich, and wonderfully full sound that sparkles and shimmers through the air. Takamine's TP4T preamp system provides rich and natural sound The EG630S sports Takamine's TP4T preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output - instantly. A full-featured preamp system, the EG630S's TP4T electronics provide you with a handy onboard tuner plus an active shelving EQ with bass, middle, and treble sliders. It also sports a low battery indicator, which is actually even more useful than you might think. And since the preamp is switched on by and off by plugging in and unplugging your EG630S, it's hard to accidentally run the 9V battery out. Takamine - a legacy of amazing quality, sound, and playability The Takamine EG630S acoustic-electric guitar benefits from a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan's Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music's biggest stars. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods and construction techniques - something you'll discover fro yourself as soon as you pick up your EG630S for the first time. This guitar is very comfortable for me and although some folks on other sites have expressed their dislike of the thicker neck, I actually find it comfortable.
