What this is REALLY is a mandolin-scale electric guitar. There are 4 single strings (not courses). Straight out of the box it tuned up and played great. I can make it sound like a mando but also i can bend, pull, hammer and all the other electric tricks. I have just begun scratching the surface of what's possible by running through my guitar effects. Positive: Very good quality..tone is goodJanuary 17, 2012 Music Background: a lot of years. Negative: After adjustment and set up....intonation will not adjust without major change as replacement of adjustment screws with a longer reach. ... read more [+] Playability is ok...not that great. I have to tune it according to the recording I'm doing so it will record in tune. I get it to work...but it takes attention as it will sound out of tune as you go up the scale if not modified.
