A Member of Epiphone's Prophecy Collection
Epiphone's Prophecy Collection Guitars might look familiar at first glance - indeed, they do feature such legendary body styles as the Les Paul and SG. Yet, these instruments boast innovative new components that set them apart from any Epiphone you've ever seen. First, depending on the model, they feature either EMG active, EpiActive, Gibson USA, or original Floyd Rose Tremolo-equipped pickups. Second, they each claim highly figured quilt Maple tops that give them the look and presence of other guitars well beyond this affordable price range. And as for the necks, they're what Epiphone calls SpeedTaper satin, complete with "blade" inlays across the 24 jumbo frets that almost invite your hand to glide across them. Plus, because these are Epiphone "Customs," their bodies and necks are all bound - an additional benefit at this modest price. And, finally, quality finishing touches include Epiphone's new Straplock system for worry-free playing, precision tuners, and, most noticeably, their gorgeous hand-stained colors.

EM-2 Body Style with Modern Enhancements
The EM-2 body style is all rock - complete with Epiphone's patented "swept-C" cutaway that gives you easy access to all 24-frets, which you'll be grateful for when you crank up the volume and start soloing. Another cool feature is its String-Thru-Body tailpiece system that, combined with the Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge, transfers the EM-2's body resonance directly to the strings for even better tone. Epiphone actually made the first EM-2 styled guitars back in the early 90s when Grunge was the rage, and this EM-2 Custom FX features the same aggressive reverse Explorer-style headstock as its older brothers.

EpiActive Humbucking Pickups
The Prophecy EM-2 Custom FX wears Epiphone's new EpiActive humbuckers in both the neck and bridge position which work together to deliver this guitar's sharp attack, and singing sustain. Plus, unlike most active pickups, these EpiActives can also be used in passive mode to provide a traditional output without the need for any battery.
