Customer Reviewsfrom Mantua, OH USA December 3, 2007 Music Background: Pro Epiphone Dot 335If you want an ES335, but don't have the $ (or at least don't want to spend it), take a good hard look at this axe. I have one in white. From the factory, Pickups were to low, bridge to high (both my opinion), I "Dialed it in",,,now it plays nice for a $800 axe, but for a $250 axe, PLAYS AWESOME,,, for what it is, with some minor adjustments & new strings(D'Addario .10), very impressive! The finish,,, Flawless for a painted guitar (truly shocking)! The sound, thru a DSL401,,, if you own a DSL,,,, buy one of these,,, you will be blown away! Either clean for Jazz, or a bite that I still can't believe! Maybe I just got lucky, but I'll tell you, on this particular guitar,,, if they are all like this, I can't believe every player doesn't have one, or I got TOTALLY lucky! Currently I have 11 guitars hanging on my wall,, some pretty nice stuff. I'm telling you,,, buy this guitar,,, you will love how it sounds through A Marshall DSL or probably anything with all tubes. Must be something with the thin walled body,, but trust me, if you own a DSL or TSL,, BUY ONE!!! You'll thank me!!! Trust me!!from Red Lion, PA USA November 1, 2011 Music Background: Hobby musician/DJ Great GuitarI've always wanted an arch top guitar, and I got this one back in the summer. It plays very well, and is reasonably priced in comparison to it's higher quality Gibson siblings. No real drawbacks aside from the need to be adjusted for the individual musician, but should play well once you get it.from Conesus, NY January 25, 2008 Music Background: Always and still a student Great Guitar, great price.I have had this guitar for almost a year now which gives me a more partial opinon now that the newness has worn off. Currently I own 4 guitars and this is the guitar I pick up most often, likely due to the tone it produces but the neck width fits my hands better. The simplicity of the guitar is what makes it so appealing with a basic finish, one volume and one tone control, and Alnico Humbuckers, in this case less is more. I would suggest keeping the light guage strings or maybe go up to 10's, I tried 12's but had way too much bass. Both clean and crunch sound awesome, I play through a Custom Wav210 amp with a Digitech Screamin Blues pedal and a Dunlop Baby Wah. If I were to modify this guitar I would want to change the nut to a graphite one, add on a pickguard and I am kicking around changing out the pickups to the new Epiphone active pickups, not because the old ones are sub-par but because I can't leave well enough alone, thats just me.Overall, this is a great guitar for the price and you get more than you paid for, even my father in law who's been playing for 40 some years takes it away from me when the family gets together for a jam session. from Toledo, Ohio October 6, 2007 Music Background: Guitar semi pro Good valueNice action out of the box. A warm clean sound if you are after that it delivers- don't play crunch so don't know. Seems to be well constructed, gets complimetns but when the price is mentioned people are suprised it is so low. Nice to have a good sounding guitar that you can leave propped up in the corner...and grab anytime.
