From Our Research Team:The Classic Nighthawk is Back!Like the rest of the lineup of now classic models first introduced by Gibson, including the Flying-V, the Explorer, and even the now epically popular Les Paul, the Nighthawk was far from an overnight success. Back in 1993, when the Nighthawk first hit the scene, its 25-1/2" scale, coil-tappable humbuckers, and angular single cutaway body shape (a departure from Gibson's traditional style) were less than thrilling to manny diehard Gibson players. After 18 years, many of the same guitarists who originally snubbed the Nighthawk have come to realize how cool this unique instrument is.The Epiphone Nighthawk Custom Reissue lets you join in the celebration, with this unbelievably affordable model. You'll love the way your fingers race across the Nighthawk Custom Reissue's SlimTaper D-shape neck. Its pair of 4-wire humbuckers and blazing hot NSX single-coil pickup give you a wide tonal pallet, and its "String-Thru Body" bridge design provides plenty of sustain. If you're looking for an instrument that will let you explore an incredible range of natural tone, then you're going to love the Nighthawk Custom Reissue from Epiphone! I bought this guitar after reading a review of it in a national guitar magazine. And because it is reasonabley priced.December 27, 2011 Music Background: Pro musician/luthier I was not diappointed whenIi saw the guitar. The fit and finish ... read more [+]on the Nighthawk were flawless. What really impressed me was that the action nad intonation were perfect! My Gibson Les Paul required a complete setup to make it playable. The range of sounds on this guitar is amazing, from single coil twang to humbucker crunch. Three pickups with a 5 selector switch and a coil split switch on the tone pot! The neck on this guitar is slim and relatively flat, making it suitable for shredding if that's your style. At any rate it is a very fast neck. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was that the pickups sounded just a tad thin in some settings, although they definitely do not sound bad. But then again, one must consider the price. Seymour Duncan makes a slanted humbucker if you want to replace the stock one. Bottom line - well worth the money and I would buy it again. close [-]
