Get ready to discover tons of great new sounds with your Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass!Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass Semi-hollowbody Electric Bass at a Glance:
Semi-hollow maple body provides bright attack and resonant acoustic thump Here's something we don't see every day at Sweetwater: a semi-acoustic bass. What's more, the Jack Casady Signature Bass features a maple back and sides, whose bright and naturally resonant tone compliments the woody thump of its 34"-scale bass setup. Even without its killer electronics, all you have to do is listen to the acoustic sound of the Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass to know this is a very special instrument. Specially designed pickup captures natural bass tone with extra clarity To capture the full range of the Jack Casady Signature Bass's acoustic bass sound, Epiphone outfitted it with a specially designed low-impedance, low-output humbucker. Not only does this humbucker capture the Jack Casady Signature Bass's thump and growl beautifully, it also gives your sound the kind of clarity you don't typically get from active bass pickups. VariTone control makes dialing in the perfect bass sound as simple as turning a knob Epiphone's VariTone circuitry is a truly unique beast, and it's part of what makes the Jack Casady Signature Bass such a fun and distinctive instrument to play. The VariTone control lets you dial in the impedance of its active humbucking pickup from around 50 ohms to around 500 ohms, which seriously affects your sound. As you turn the Jack Casady Signature Bass's VariTone control, you shift its tone from even dynamics and full tone to a punchier response with a narrower sound and plenty of bite. This gives you an absolutely massive sonic pallet to play with! Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass Semi-hollowbody Electric Bass Features:
The Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass gives you wonderful sound, feel, and looks to match!

I got this bass because I needed a backup for my Fender Jazz and I wanted to be able to get a more acoustic tone while I was at it. Really cool thing about this axe is that with the tone selection kn... read more [+]ob, you have quite literally 3 entirely uniques bass sounds, not to mention AWESOME acoustic tone. Everyone always goes on about this bass needing flat wound strings, so I ordered some with it, but I have yet to put them on because the bass sounds so great right out of the box. I'm sure I'll get around to it, but it is not the make or break item others describe it to be. The only thing I didn't like was that when the bass arrived the pick up tone selector switch and the line out jack were both loose. I guess the inspector missed those items, but I still give this 5 stars because this thing sounds soooo good. Very easy to play and overall a truly good instrument with great build quality. As an added bonus it looks cool too. I would get the hard case if I was you, it does provide good protection. Oh yeah, people also whine about the bass being so called neck heavy. It is a hollow body so there is a bit of truth to that, but as usual very overexagerated. A bit wider strap takes care of it just fine. Buy it you won't regret it. This bass can do anything you need it to do if you can provide the chops to pull it off. close [-]

Very nice! I found the acoustic tone to be trebly and rattley (all the pickguard, pickup bezels, etc) but plugged in (as it should be) it sounds great. For a single pickup bass it has a nice range of ... read more [+]sounds thanks to the Varitone switch. Build quality is top notch, feels more like one of my early 70s Gibsons.October 14, 2011 Music Background: 40 years semi pro bassist The stock strings have to go. Don’t even tune it up, just cut ‘em off and start over. I put Thomastik-Infeld flats on it and wow! I imagine it would be nice with D’Addario Chromes, even Fender 9050s too. For the price, it would be nice if it came with a case but it is a $120 option. Oh well, it’ll fit in my double gig bag. I love the black finish instead of gold, but that is a personal choice. close [-] Also popular
