From Our Research Team:Acoustic Sound Set Free! The Takamine Natural Series was conceived to give you the biggest and widest acoustic sound possible. Solid cedar tops, solid mahogany backs, a thin satin finish and no pickguard - anything that could possibly impede the vibration of the soundboard was purposely left out.The theory works. Naturals are so alive with sound that they nearly jump out of your hands. I saw a pub performer playing one of these and was intrigued by the simplicity of guitar, i.e., no pick guard, inlays, finish, etc., etc. But, most of all I was astounded by the sound and tone of the ... read more [+]guitar. He was plugged in, but the guitar just sound so full and sweet. So, I bought one on eBay for an excellent price. I loved it from the start and it became my go to guitar. Now for the downside...at least for me, I noticed after playing for an extended period of time that my left hand was hurting. I figured it was just getting old, but after a number of occurrences, I concluded it is from the wide, low neck. I subsequently purchased a Breedlove AD25/SM guitar and guess what...no more pain! I love the sound of the Tak, but the neck isn't right for me, so I am selling it. Too bad! close [-]

Some folks say this guitar doesn't have a lot of features because of the lack of inlays etc. How about a compensated string through, no pins, bridge. A preamp with a chromatic tuner that lets you folksingers capo and tune silently. Those georgeous Amber tuning keys. Forget all that. How about the crystal clear, balanced tone and ease of play. Go on. Buy yourself a Taylor to impress your friends. Then come over to my house and hear what a real handcrafted guitar sounds like. close [-]
