This is one of my favorite microphones in my collection. I've been happy with it on vocals and guitar amps as Blue suggests, but it's also become my secret weapon on snare drum...it sounds great, and is very easy to place because of its design. Speaking of that, it's also the coolest-looking microphone in my studio.
Customer Reviewsfrom Austin, TX May 16, 2009Music Background: Recording Engineer One of my favoritesThese things are great. They have a smooth sound and nothing is harsh. I have two and I use them for overheads when I want a fatter room sound. They are nice and "chesty" for lack of better terms.Guitar stuff. WOW. When I track guitars, I like to get the amps WAY up in volume and move tons of air. This mic handles it extremely well. Another cool thing is the capsule can rotate; guitar layers sit nicely together when I turn it slightly. I have been able to do incredible things with this mic. A workhorse for sure. And the company is awesome. Great people. from October 29, 2008 AmazingWow! that's all I can say. This mic out performs mics in higher price categories. It's very warm. Very conducive for stringed instruments and I personally found it excellent for male vocals. I haven't tried it out on female vocals as of yet. Over all, very pleased !!!from Des Moines, IA, USA July 10, 2006Music Background: hobbyist Excellent micI am mainly using this to record acoustic guitar, and it performs really well in this situation. The mic is easy to position and once you have the mic in the general position you want, you can rotate the capsule pretty easily to fine tune things. And the integrated shock mount is a nice touch. Solid product.
