I upgraded to the Delta 1010 from the Delta 1010lt (lower quality version of this card with no breakout box). For those who say that the 1010 is just a 1010lt with a fancy box for $400 more are MISTA... read more [+]KEN! The 1010 is MUCH higher quality than its lower quality cousin. For one, you get balanced, 1/4" input and outputs as opposed to unbalanced RCA connectors. Boo. Second, the converters in this thing SMOKE the 1010lt. Period. Don't get me wrong, the 1010lt is a great budget card and I highly recommend it for that purpose. But if you're going for quality and have the $ to spend, do the right thing. Get the Delta 1010. Happy shopping! close [-]

July 2, 2006 Music Background: Hobbyist~! Delta 1010 Experience
by Allen Portman from Houston, Texas
I have been running my Delta 1010 interface for probably close to 5 years now, and I have worked the literal poop out of it ever since day-one of purchase. As far as audio goes it is been rock solid. ... read more [+]I have not had such a positive experience with the midi on the 1010. I attempted to struggle with its stability on and off for about a year, but upgrades never did improve its stability. It is not big deal because what little midi do do I run it through an M-Audio Midi Sport 2X2, which has always been rock solid. For the money and the quality, I have never, no not one time, regretted purchasing the Delta 1010. close [-]

I purchased mine in 2000 and with the exception of two minor repairs (capacitor on the PCI card I think) it's been going strong ever since. In six years I have *never* had a driver-related crash runni... read more [+]ng Nuendo & Wavelab on XP.September 27, 2006 Music Background: A couple of small caveats: 1. Direct monitoring in Nuendo is a sketchy. Audio is not passed through the software. Apparently Not a problem for all users. No solution yet. 2. Using an internal SATA drive hosted by a SIL controller: Terrible clicks and pops will accompany audio on the 1010's inputs and outputs (the latter implies that audio going through the 1010's inputs will be recorded to your host software *with clicks and pops intact*). The solution is simply to make sure that the SATA controllers for your internal audio drive are not made by SIL. If you're after a PCI solution, and if you can live with only 8 channels per box/card to a max of 32 channels (motherboard permitting) and a single stereo S/PDIF I/O per card then the 1010 could be just the ticket. Consider that I bought it back then for TWICE what you'll pay today, and it was *still* a bargain... You can hardly go wrong. Of course, YMMV. Peace close [-] Also popular
