DXR8 speakers pack maximum performance into an efficient design that's perfect for the gigging musician that's on the go. And thanks to the built-in three-channel mixer, the DXR8 is perfect for those times when you need sound reinforcement but don't need an entire PA system. Whether you're playing pre-recorded music or performing for a crowd, you'll love the transparent sound of the Yamaha DXR8 powered loudspeakers.Yamaha DXR8 Powered Loudspeaker at a Glance:
High-power, Class D amplifier The Yamaha DXR8 employs a 700W RMS Class D amplifier to serve up vibrant, dynamic sound reinforcement. The DXR8 is bi-amped, with a full 600 watts for the LF driver and 100 watts for the HF driver. The high wattage doesn't just let the DXR8 get loud, it gives it the headroom needed to reproduce the dynamics and nuances in your music. And thanks to the ultra-lightweight Class D amplifier, the DXR8's big sound is still convenient to transport. Stellar sound quality Yamaha used a lot of innovative technology to get the maximum sonic quality out of the DXR8 powered loudspeaker. For example, Yamaha's FIR-X tuning technology is constantly optimizing the time alignment between the HF and LF drivers, reducing phase cancellations to greatly enhance bass frequency response as well as stereo imaging. Also, the non-resonant ABS enclosure is designed to resist vibrations at high output levels, greatly reducing distortion for the best sound at extreme levels. Built-in three-channel mixer While a pair of DXR8 powered loudspeakers makes a great sound system, especially when paired with a Yamaha DXS subwoofer, what about those situations where you just need a little bit of reinforcement without an entire sound system? Just turn the DXR8 around, and connect up to three microphones or line-level signals for instant amplification. The versatile nature of the DXR8 makes it the ideal loudspeaker for solo musicians, as well as schools and houses of worship that need a flexible sound system for multiple applications. These speakers are awesome, I have these set at the zero setting (for gain) and it's enough raise. the roof. I thought the M-Audio 10's were great, there is no comparison, These difinitly blew me away... read more [+]. Good job Dennis, You were right, Much Power to spare with clarity. close [-]

Hello, I'v owned a pair of these speakers for 3 weeks now. I bought them to have a back system for my other B-52 matrix 1000vs's I bright on every gig or show. When I first started to hook up & test t... read more [+]hese dxr8's I found a few minor problems. First I hooked it though my BBE 482i audio out (1/4 inch) to (1/4) on the back of the dxr's. Then I ran a xlr to the other dxr'8 to make the stereo conection. I played around with the (stereo/mono) button & it works fine, that proves I had it hooked right.. With this set up I found it to be just not sounding good..to be more technical, the audio was uncompressed sounding & in the background noise there was a minor to mod- hummmm...sound..So long sorry short I ended up with this setup that works fine. My Dj rig runs though the BBE 482i (1/4-xlr) this time. Also this time I run though the bbe to a 18" powered subwoofer that has many inputs/outputs ect.. Then I run an xlr cable to go from the sub to the Satellite speakers in this case the Yamaha dxr8's using the (sub-audio out full range/to the xlr input on the dxr's). Example (from sub-left channel out to left dxr speaker, right channel out to the right dxr speaker). April 11, 2012 Music Background: Producer/Dj/photographer After that, I found that buzzing-humming sound 95% decreased when I turn the dxr8,s down to (1/4 level on the knob) on both speakers have to be set evenly to have proper level. The only other thing is that when using the dxr8's by them selfs (no sub or subs) & there is a setting that says "off/100hz/120hz, it's better sound havng this setting "OFF" when alone! When it is set to "off" the sound quality is really good but have caution because, the 8" size speaker tops out pretty Easley & you don't won't that! When I have it hooked to the sub speaker, I turn that setting (on dxr8's) to "100/120Hz", then your ready to rock! There are many ways these speakers can be set up so remember take your time & practice makes perfecto! close [-]
