You'll Love the Sound of These Versatile PA Speakers

You'll be amazed at the sonic clarity and depth you get from Yamaha's DXR10mkII powered loudspeakers, part of their DXR/DXS line of Class D–powered PA speakers. Housed in durable, compact ABS enclosures, the 10" DXR10mkII 2-way speakers represent Yamaha's latest sound reinforcement technology. While they're ready for duty as part of a full-scale stage rig, DXR10mkII speakers pack maximum performance into an efficient design that's also perfect for gigging musicians. And thanks to the built-in 3-channel mixer, the DXR10mkII is perfect for those times when you need sound reinforcement but don't need an entire PA system. Whether you're playing pre-recorded music or performing for a crowd, you'll love the transparent sound of Yamaha's DXR10mkII powered loudspeakers.

Consistent clarity and balance at any volume

While any loudspeaker's tonal balance can vary depending on its output level, the DXR10mkII features Yamaha's D-Contour intelligent multiband compressor to maintain its sonic integrity at any volume. D-Contour constantly monitors multiple frequency bands, and makes real-time adjustments to keep the balance consistent — it won't mess with your mix, it just ensures your mix stays the same at any volume level. And live sound engineers at Sweetwater appreciate the flexibility to choose from two operational modes (FOH/Main or Monitor) to optimize the frequency balance depending on your application.

Full and detailed imaging thanks to advanced FIR-X tuning

Many loudspeakers exhibit a loss of clarity and/or volume in frequencies near their crossover points, but the Yamaha DXR10mkII maintains clear sound thanks to advanced FIR-X crossover tuning. Utilizing ultra-precise 48-bit DSP, FIR-X optimizes frequencies and phase relationships to practically eliminate crossover distortion. The result is a smooth, balanced response around the crossover frequencies and a better-sounding performance overall.

Built-in 3-channel mixer

While multiple DXR10mkII powered loudspeakers make a great sound system — especially when paired with a Yamaha DXS subwoofer — what about those situations where you just need a little bit of reinforcement without an entire sound system? Just turn the DXR10mkII around, and connect up to three microphones or line-level signals for instant amplification. The versatile nature of the DXR10mkII makes it the ideal loudspeaker for solo musicians, as well as schools and houses of worship that need a flexible sound system for multiple applications.

Yamaha DXR10mkII Powered Loudspeaker Features:

  • High-powered portable loudspeaker with multi-use flexibility
  • 10" speaker, powered by 1,100 watts of peak power in a 2-way design
  • Built-in 3-channel mixer lets you connect microphones or line-level sources directly without an entire PA system
  • Built-in DSP for phase optimization and transparent dynamic control
  • ABS cabinet is durable, with a low-resonance design for maximum sound quality

This one is for the Guitar players

I bought these along with a pair of Yamaha HS8's to run amp sims and my Kemper and loud music through. I already had the Kemper Kabinet but my tone never sounded right to me. What I learned is, Amp in the room tone is NOT what I was looking for. What I wanted was to emulate the tone I heard in recordings of my favorite songs. I wanted the recorded sound after the cab had been mic'd and mixed. So I bought these, plugged my Kemper in and it all just fell into place. My tube amps (which have all silent modes) just needed to be run through an IR first. It really did make all the difference. I rarely if ever use my real cabinets anymore.

There are 2 minor down sides. Neither of which are really a problem for me but YMMV. Without a sub, these things won't "hit you in the chest" the way a 4x12 cab will. But it isn't a problem because I actually sound like I want to sound. They can also be a bit susceptible to signal noise but guitar players are no stranger to this so you should know how to handle it.

These are hard to believe they can fill a large room but they do and stay clean and balanced thought the entire room

I had to replace in a school the sound system, They had some old monster system racks of power amps and just old stuff from mid 70s. This was a big room seats 500 carpeted all material seats.

They do school plays and concerts and they sound system they had was shot or to much work to fix and why anyway.
I had a set of the 10 DXRs and I set them up on the sides of the the stage on seating floor on poles to give a demonstration to the principal and the Drama woman who does the school plays.

They walked in and saw the speakers and looked at me like I was wasting there time. I said here is all you need I can connect to the sound room mixer that was in upper tiers and run all the 16 cordless mic I just bought to do the playsto that old mixer console. They looked confused due to the size of the speakers. I said go sit in the back of the room which was way back. I said I will simply just play some music off my I phone into mixer which will play back through the DXRs.
The look on their faces when I played music as the entire room filled with clear sound, no breakup or distortion. The low and mids where felt evenly throughout the whole room. They were in disbelief, more so when I told them it will fix and replace a room full of useless equiptment and be ready to use it shortly after its all in place. They decided for the money to go with the DXR 12. I setup sound and ran 15 new wireless mic for a weeks worth of performances for the play with my DXR 10s as the 12DXRs at the time were back ordered. I didnt even have to push the speakers a full volume. The people coming to the plays I could hear some say finally we can hear the kids and how nice and full it all was. I used to drag a a monster system with me in a truck for years. Now I get the same results for a pair of these Yamahas and a sub.

Perfect pairing for guitar modelers.

I had tried many different options for my guitar modeler. Some were boomy, some not loud enough, some would not provide natural sounding guitar feedback, and some lost the Translation of my presets. I am happy to say the Yamaha fixes all the above problems. My recommendation is to use a PA speaker with your modeler as you will hear close to what your audience hears. I only wish they made one that sounded the same and was shaped more like a back line can.

Crossover at 2300 hz. too high

Yamaha should have set the crossover lower to help with vocal clarity. 2.3 khz is just too high for good intelligibility. Most higher end speakers at the price level have a 1500 to 1800 crossover! Deal breaker for me.
