Good value

Well, where the DTXplorer beats the competition in the entry level E-drum market is in the editing. The Roland V-3 kit may have great sounds, but you cannot even so much as tune the drums voices, no pitch control whatsoever! The stock sounds on the DTX are good for the most part, I used to own a DTXpress 3 special and feel as though the acoustic drums sounds of the DTXplorer are just as good, just not as many. You can't do cymbal chokes, all pads are single zone (though you can upgrade the snare to a 80-s pad and get snare/rim dual triggers), the triangle cymbal pads are cheesy, but overall I'd take this kit over the Roland T3 simply for the editing. Being able to edit the pitch of the drum samples trumps anything the T3 has to offer imo.
