The little monitors pack a punch! For one like me that believes that mixing a low volume levels makes for better recordings these are perfect. If placed properly with no acoustical treatment they wi... read more [+]ll not lie to you. I play my mixes on different sources for reference and what I hear is what I get. What amazes me is the mid range. I'm always fighting with getting mids right between monitors and home stereos but with these I don't have that problem. If they came with a protective covering for storage I would have given them a five. close [-]

This was a birthday present and am I glad that I have these. Things that I have recorded sound so much more different, the sound quality is wonderful, and vocals played back through these monitors are crisp. I even listened to my CD collection with these monitors, and I heard things that were too low to show up in the car or on speakers somewhere else. If you don't own a pair of monitors or you're looking for a good pair to start out with, you can't go wrong with these, for the quality and the price. close [-]

3db difference left to right

by John Collins from PA, USA

These are great speakers for mix monitoring and general listening especially when used with a sub. However, I discovered that the left (slave/sattelite) speaker was 3 decibels quieter. I only took mea... read more [+]surements at 90db, but my ears told me first and when bringing them up slowly from silent, the right speaker comes up first. I'm assuming its true across all levels. It hasn't impacted my mixes in any noticable way to other people, but I can tell and it makes me slowly turn in my seat and constantly reposition the left speaker. I have a tiny mixer that I plan on using to even the levels out. If you can control your levels individually, there's no problem. Also, like another person mentioned, be very careful taking them out of the box, the tweeters are exposed and the one with the amp is heavier than you'd think. (My dimpled tweeter is the louder one, I don't think it's related nor do I notice any difference in sound between the two other than the levels. If I did, I'd just poke the other one in! ) close [-]
