Then Sony, Sennheiser, Shure, etc... Then recently, I call and speak with Aaron Regenald at Sweetwater, who suggested I check out these BD DT 770 Pro. (I asked for something different but he knew what I was looking for) These are by FAR the BEST HeadPhones I've ever had. I started with Blues/Jazz at first, then Heavy Metal, Rock, Contemporary, and now, Film Scoring. But these could have handled all of the above. The Volume level is more than I can handle, the Bass is POUNDING and the Clarity is AMAZING! I could've spent anywhere from $500 to $1200, and he pointed me to a set that's priced around $200. October 10, 2012 Music Background: Guitar, Bass, Keys, Viola, Film Scoring, Recording and just about anything I didn't have to Blow into That dude has earned my loyalty from here on out. Don't look down on these because of the price, and don't think that you're 'settling for what you can afford. Also, to have great HPs, you don't need to spend over $500. These BDs are more than any Professional set I've ever come across! And I can still listen to a variety of music from my iPod to my Stereo.
