Excellent amp

I originally purchased this amp as the companion to the Pod HD500 using the Line6Link feature. In that respect, this amp sounds incredible. Very organic & responsive the way a tube amp should be. The power amp is reconfigured by the Pod to emulate the power section of the preamp model selected on the Pod but this is customizable - you can select between Class A or AB, pentode / triode, and selectable "negative feedback loop" settings to make things sound the way you want. As a standalone amp, it sounds great. Very versatile and pedal-friendly. You'll need a footswitch to select the channels on the fly but overall, the amp can give a good account of itself on any of the four amp styles it can produce. If you switch to half-power, you're using the modeled power amp tone instead of tubes. You do lose some of that natural tubey goodness however. You do have to crank this amp (like any tube amp) to get the full tube tone, and this thing is quite loud for 50w. Had the DT25 been available when I was looking for an amp, I'd have bought it instead, but overall I'm very happy with this amp.

The real deal!

If you have a Pod hd this amp will show you what Line 6 really had in mind. I tried the frfr thing but only after using this amp did I truly bond with the Pod in a live setting. Plenty of power and tons of tone. I give it a 4 star only because the tolex covering is a bit cheap.
