Originally released in the mid-70s, the Gibson L6S is back. Having gained popularity with many players of the day the L6S was used in every genre from rock to jazz to fusion. The maple body, neck and fretboard give you crystal clear attack and definition while the humbucking pickups offer fat, warm tone. Maple, maple, maple
In a departure from the typical Gibson tonewood choices, the Gibson L6s features a solid maple body. Combined with the maple neck and baked maple fingerboard the L6S offer sustain and clarity unlike you have ever had. The snap and razor sharp notes of maple will give you a cool tonal palette that will cut through the band with definition.

Two fat and warm humbuckers
When you really want to cook on a solo or deliver some rich, warm rhythm tones, you reach for a guitar that's got a pair of humbuckers, right? Forget about thin sounding pickups, that's not your tone. Your sound is all about the warmth, punch and midrange complexity you can only get from a pair of Gibson humbuckers. The Gibson L6S comes with a pair of chrome covered humbuckers: a 490R in the neck position and a 498T in the bridge position for uncompromising power, whether you're playing rhythm or digging into a solo.

6-way switching
The Gibson L6S is a unique guitar with a unique switching combination giving you the best of the humbucking and single-coil worlds. You have access to the complete set of humbucking combinations, plus a battery of single-coil tones, making this guitar extremely flexible and ready for any type of gig. Your tonal flexibility is increased further with the unique tone pots, which are really EQ pots. One is treble roll-off and the other is bass roll-off so you can really dial in the tones you need.
