The DSL Series - a revered tonal heritage The Marshall DSL15C hails from a revered lineage. Marshall introduced the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) series amps in 1997. Right from the get-go, these all-tube monsters enjoyed enthusiastic approval by guitarists and the press alike, forming the backlines of top acts in all musical genres and bludgeoning audiences worldwide for a decade before being replaced by Marshall's JVM series (a musical powerhouse in its own right). Considered the "go-to rock amp" by many tone-savvy guitarists, there is considerable pent-up demand for Dual Super Leads. Marshall hears you, and is proud to introduce the new-and-improved DSL series. A 15-watt tone beast Marshall's DSL15C is an all-tube, twin-channel tone machine capable of conjuring any classic Marshall sound - past or present. Four ECC83s in the preamp section (in concert with the amp's gain/master volume arrangement) give you stunning tone-shaping mojo, and with two 6V6s in the engine room, you've got power that's ideal for everything from the studio to the bedroom. Sporting the same feature set as the original DSL100, Marshall has gone on to fit this little beastie with critical upgrades that give you even more control over your sound. You still get a Deep switch for defining low-end girth, but you also get studio-grade digital Reverb (instead of spring), a rear-panel Pentode/Triode switch that halves the amp's power to a bedroom-friendly 7.5 watts, and a bypassable rear-panel Series FX loop. Marshall's even included a 2-way footswitch for channel switching and Reverb on/off. Two channels, and all the trimmings The Marshall DSL15C sports two footswitchable channels: Classic Gain and Ultra Gain. With the DSL15C, you can go from glassy Plexi-esque cleans, to JCM800-style snarl, hot-mod 2203, face-melting high gain - and everything in-between. To shape all this delectable Marshall tone, you get flexible shared 4-way EQ (Treble, Middle, Bass, and Presence) juiced with the thoughtful inclusion of a Tone Shift button - ideal for scooped modern metal mojo. I love this amp. I needed a low watt amp to play in the house. When I found this 15 watt Marshall I thought this one might be for me. When I found out you could lower it down to 7.5 watts I knew it wa... read more [+]s for me. I can play this amp while my wife is in the house and she's ok with it. It doesn't take over the whole house unless you want it to. The tones are great. I've always been a Marshall fan and never much cared for the sound of Fender so the clean channel really works for me. It's not super clean which is just fine. You can get a nice gritty surf sound that is more on the Link Wray side of the street. The digital spring reverb is ok but not great. Nothing replaces springs. I've ordered a Danelectro Spring King to try out with it. The DSL 15C isn't gonna rattle your pants legs like a 100 Watt Marshall half stack but it's got some really good tones from clean to beautiful V8 Engine over driven tubes just plugging straight into the amp. Yes, it's made in Vietnam but it's made well and the price is reasonable. The Marshall DSL 15C really fit my needs. It can get loud enough to make it fun and then you can cut the volume, keep the tones and not drive everyone else in the house crazy. close [-]
