Gibson Firebird Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
Grade-A Construction and Playability to Match
Gibson didn't skimp on quality when they built this Firebird. From its beautiful mahogany body and super-slim 9-piece mahogany/walnut neck to the rock-solid hardware, this instrument is pro quality through and through. The upgraded Steinberger Gearless tuners give you super-stable tuning at every gig. You'll appreciate the way this solidbody electric feels in your hands - it plays like an extension of you rather than a piece of equipment. That's the sign of a great guitar. Your Gibson Firebird is waiting for you, right here at Sweetwater!
Wield authentic Firebird sonic punch
Gibson's Firebird is a modern update of the original Gibson model, boasting all the vintage mojo - including a pair of mini humbuckers that give you the bright, bell-like jangle of single-coils, with the midrange complexity and punch you more associate with humbuckers. All, of course, with no noise! Awesome ear candy for your fans.
SlimTaper neck feels great and provides exceptional playability
The Gibson Firebird sports a comfortable, fast-action neck with a '60s SlimTaper profile. Early Gibson guitars had huge, bulky necks. By 1960, Gibson had gradually carved down this profile into what became their SlimTaper neck. As your fingers moved down this neck, the precisely controlled width-to-thickness ratio of the Firebird's SlimTaper neck provides you with a consistent, fast, and comfortable feel. It's no wonder many life-long guitar players consider the SlimTaper Gibson's finest neck.

by Thomas McGuire from Missoula, MTI own a dozen guitars, mostly Fenders and Gibsons and this Firebrid is one unique animal. Very long neck, huge headstock and it takes some getting used too, even for experienced players. They have a deep bass sound, which surprised me.

Right away I found that I needed to put on a set of strap locks. The odd way the strap attaches lends easliy to the strap coming off. Overall, I really like and enjoy playing this guitar close [-]
by DB from SeattleFirst, The only reason I would ever order a guitar online is that one is not available locally for me to buy. That was the case with the Firebird. It is a very beautiful looking instrument. This is th... read more [+]e second guitar I have ordered online, the first also a Gibson. That guitar, Les Paul; Jr., had to be returned to the Gibson factory as it was unplayable(could not be tuned), The set in neck was crooked. This guitar was also in need of professional attention when I received it. My guitar tech spent 90 minutes on it. The nut had to be removed, adjusted and reset. The intonation was way off, bridge needed adjusting and so on...Even though it came with a checklist from the factory and an evaluation from Sweetwater, it took some work to set up. It now is very enjoyable to play although a very different feel than any other guitar I have owned. I play through a variety of different amps and it works well with all(usually play through a Bogner Ecstacy) I would recommend the Firebird to someone who is looking for a very beautiful and unusual guitar for their collection. close [-]
