DiMarzio's YJM was created for Yngwie Malmsteen - an avid collector of vintage Strats, especially those from the '50s and '60s - as a vintage-style magnet-stagger replacement Strat pickup. The YJM is the standard neck pickup on his signature Strat. The stacked design yields a tone that's very much like that of a vintage Strat pickup with more shine and brilliance on the top end - with no 60-cycle hum that plagues most single-coil pickups. Yngwie uses a YJM in both the neck and middle position.
