Customer Reviewsfrom Fountain Inn, SC January 16, 2010Music Background: Home Studio Junkie Best for fixed InstallsI agree that these shouldn't be considered for frequent attachment/removal. The clips are essentially the same as those on the Samson drum mic kits. I only moved my kit 3 times and on the 3rd move I snapped a clip. The fatal flaw in the product is the top portion of the clip just above the spring. It's not reinforced there... just flat plastic with a hole through it. If you aren't careful the clip snaps in half right there and there is no 'fix'.from los angeles, ca September 14, 2008Music Background: recording engineer They all broke. They worked well for about 6 months, now all three are broken. I took very good care of them, never hit with sticks. They all broke in the same place, right where the unit clamps onto the drum. Definitely a design flaw. These are plastic, and the plastic is not very strong. I'd recommend you spend a little extra on better clamps.from Bloomfield Hills, MI February 4, 2011Music Background: Live Sound Engineer Bad DesignThese mic clips break so easily it's a joke. Have gone through 9 clips in a short span of time. Great care was taken in mounting the clips but they break so easily and usually in the same spot. At this rate I will have spent more on clips then I did on the drum mics.Sampson should be embarrassed on their poor engineering and take responsibility on making it right. But then again they probably view this as a source additional income. from Bellmore, NY March 10, 2009Music Background: Pro Musician Break Easily!I bought set of similar clips on 8 mic set from Sampson. All them broke in two months. Also won't work on some drums with "lip" like old Premier kits. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING BETTER! I now use stand with booms -- bulky but solid.

March 12, 2006 Kind of flimsyThese clips do indeed work.... however they are pretty flimsy. They are nothing you would take on the road or want to use for regular gigging. I am pretty gentle on my gear and I broke the clip on these in a little less than a month. A mic as simple as an SM57 will cause the arm to sag and sway. For a quick and dirty job, these will work. If you need something that can take some abuse and will last you awhile... I would look else where.

from Panama City, Fl USA April 1, 2005 Must HaveThese clips work great. They are durable feeling with simplistic use. I am 110% satisfied. Not to mention the fact that they are a lot more inexpensive than most clips. And I recieved them within 3 days! Got to love Sweetwater. |
