A Toneful Signature PRS!

The DGT also includes David Grissom pickups, a carved maple top with a thick mahogany back, and a 25"-scale mahogany neck. Grissom's preferred wiring and control scheme is also onboard: two volume controls and a push/pull coil tap on the tone pot grace the DGT.

Awesome Guitar

Music Background: Mostly hobbyist, but play out frequently
I had sold a bunch of gear and was in the market for a new axe. I have owned a couple Les Pauls, never really found the right one for me, but just assumed I would probably get another at some point. ... read more [+] Then I was made aware of this awesome instrument. First of all, the fit and finish is super high quality. It's my first and only PRS and I have to say, pretty amazing level of quality workmanship. The balance and feel of this guitar is great. The neck is great for me. It's chunky but not as chunky as some Gibsons. I would describe it more in the direction of a 50's strat...it's just a great feeling neck. Larger fret size-also a lot of fun(awesom fret job btw)...bending and vibrato easily achieved.. Tone-there is lots of it coming from this guitar. The pickups are really amazing. As a previous reviewer pointed out, you can get a lot of different styles. Through my rig the pups clean up nicely w/the volume knob then also can get dirty w/the volume knob. (I'm using a Deluxe Reverb amp-no master volume/gain). That's actually something that previously w/my other guitars has been hard to achieve for me w/o losing a ton of volume....DGT pups do it nicely. With the pups tapped you can get some cool tones, a little stratty at the neck, a little teleish at the bridge. My personal opinion is that it is at its best humbucking, but I don't hesitate to use the single coil options on certain tunes. This is a fun fun guitar. Also, I like versitile instruments, and to me this is a very versitile instrument. It's an easy playing guitar if that makes sense. Lastly, Sweetwater was great to work with. Thanks!! close [-]

All in One Guitar!!!!

So.... I was in the market for another Les Paul. I already owned two customs and wanted a gold top to complete my collection. I had owned a PRS Custom 24 before but it was an impulse buy the pickups... read more [+] were just too muddy for me. I traded that puppy in about a year ago. While speaking with my SW salesman who knew I enjoyed vintage looking gear and me being kind of a meat and potatoes guy he recommended I check out the DGT. I wasn't sure at first because I didn't know anything about it besides the fact I wasn't even thinking of a PRS. He said "you have to try this thing. If you don't love it there's something wrong with you ha ha." So I took a stab at it and ordered it. Two words. BLOWN AWAY. I was going to use this guitar as a backup or keep it in e flat for the e flat tunes that our band plays cause I love my Gibson Customs so much. Long story short, took my one custom and put it in e flat, took the other custom and made it my backup, and made this one my main guitar. I can't put it down. I keep telling myself I'll play another one of my axes at the show and nope.......this is the one I pick up. It has a little bigger neck really more "c" shape than anything which I love. The neck is in between my 58 reissue and my black custom which is great. There is no tone you can't get out of this guitar. It's a tone master!!! DG knew what he wanted and PRS felt what DG wanted!!!! Just by playing with the volume controls you get totally different tones from country, to jazz, to hard rock. I love it!!!!!! If you read this review just promise me you'll try one!!!! close [-]
