Customer Reviewsfrom Houston, Tx. January 23, 2012 Music Background: Live Sound Engineer/Musician BEST PIECE OF GEAR IN THE RACK!!!This unit is by far the best piece of gear in my live rack. The difference is night and day. 8 channels of EQ and a spectrum analyzer all in one rack space is awsome, but the sound is even better!!!from Massachusetts November 17, 2011 Music Background: Live sound Alesis DEQ830Using this for a rehearsal monitor system. Love it. 1RU, 8 mixes, sweet.Love the RTA function. Memory for the different projects using the system is convenient. from Houston, Texas September 19, 2010 Music Background: 35 years pro musician and sound Brilliantly DesignedThis little piece of gear is like a giant tool box of EQs.Time saver, space saver. Instantly available volume as well as equalization on eight different situations. You can link stereo pairs, save and recall a curve, or group sets of eight curves. Well worth the price. One of my all time faves of audio inventions. Installed one in the live rack and another in the home studio rack. from Chicago, IL April 6, 2010 Music Background: Professional Guitarist/Singer Exactly What I NeededI have a trio that plays 12+ instruments, and I run our sound from stage. Downtime between songs was killing us--we'd spend minutes muting, switching, trying to avoid tangling cords, making small adjustments--and it was impossible to work the crowd. Now each guy has exactly one cord to plug in no matter which instrument he plays. That cord goes to the mixer (Yamaha O1V), which is connected to the DEQ830 via lightpipe. All the EQ settings for each instrument are saved, and each configuration has its own program number. We put the appropriate program number for each song on the set list and just give the knob a little twist. It's made a world of difference in our sound, our ability to schmooze the crowd, and in our overall comfort level onstage. I'm docking it a half star because I haven't yet been able to get good results with the 12db boost/cut to level out the gain between instruments. It's probably user error, but even still I have to dock it for being counter-intuitive in that regard. from Newton, NJ June 27, 2010 Music Background: Recording/Live Sound Engineer not a bad unitIf your looking for a good sounding full spectrum eq that is 8 channels in one rack space, Alesis is the only one out there. The only downfall is if you are planning on using this unit outside, don't expect to see the LEDs. I had to make an elaborate sun shield to barely be able to use this unit outside. other than that, unit is great |
