A wide array of great guitar tones The quest for the ultimate tone can be endless. After countless hours of listening and playing – a top eleven list was selected for the DA5. Just check them out and you’ll discover they offer up the wide array of great guitar tones – from pristine clean to outrageous overdrive and all points in-between. Eleven high-quality effects Nine standard effects indispensable for any guitarist are included. These include auto wah, compressor, phaser, chorus, flanger, tremolo, rotary, delay and reverb. With the addition of combination effects, you have a total of eleven to choose from. Each effect lets you adjust several parameters. There’s also a Tap button that makes it easy to set the time or modulation speed. Dual powered amplifier The DA5 has a few tricks up its sleeve as well. The DA5 is powered by six C batteries or an AC adapter, enabling you to play anywhere. In addition, this little tonal monster has a power select switch, that lets you adjust the output power in three steps; 5W, 1.5W and 0.5W. Even when the master volume is turned up to the max to drive the power amp, you can lower the volume without losing any tone or feel. Play and sing along! Connect an external audio device such as CD, MP3 player, etc. to the DA5’s Aux In, and plug a microphone to its Mic input. The DA5’s three inputs work simultaneously so you can play guitar and sing along with recorded music. The DA5's convenient line/headphone jack allows home recording or late-night practicing. You can connect the line/headphone jack to your mixer, multi-track recorder or headphones. Since the character of the cabinet is also added to this signal, the sound will have a sense of “air” and depth even when you’re listening to the DA5 through headphones or recording direct. VOX DA5 Portable Digital Guitar Amp Features:
The VOX DA5 might be the best practice amp you've ever used!

ReviewsAbsolutely Rightous Little Amp!

I'm new to electric guitar and wasn't sure what to get to play an '08 USA Natural Ash Tele through when I picked up the tele. The store carried these at $139 and I wanted to hear the tele that night. ... read more [+]It took me some time to figure it out, but now I realize my $ couldn't have been better spent on this range/practice type amp. Can put batteries in it, take it to open mike and it rocks the average size bar. Plus built like a brick SH. I've even taken up on the mountain to rock nature. close [-]

I have been playing guitar for 15+ years, I own my own project studio and have a Diploma in Recording Arts. I play a PV EVH Special.May 5, 2008 Music Background: AV Designer I recently pawned a Line 6 Duoverb head, and decide... read more [+]d to downgrade to some small practice amps. (I also never liked the Line 6) So I bought one of these and a Fender Frontline 15R. I have a splitter. I use the fender because of its big bottom end and the Vox for its ability to make nice ear candy that blends well in the other amp. Plus two amp double the amplitude, thus the volume. The DA5 is a Monster, it doesn't bottom out when cranked (Yes it actually cranks, and loud as stink), all the amp variations sound great. The trick is to have the gain at 50%. The wattage switch is also useful for a good sound if you need to be quiet. The tap button is intuitive for every effect. My fav is tapping in the reverb time, so cool! The amp sounds great through my headphones (ATH M30's). Total bang for buck. The only complaint is the changes in volume (almost like pumping and breathing) on the tremolo, and rotary reverb settings. But thats why I have the other amp, to mask those in inaccuracies. You can't go wrong with this unit in your arsenal. close [-] Excellent Effects

I also own a Roland Micro Cube, so I will be making comparisons. Got this one yesterday for another room. The effects section is first rate with multi effects and 3 parameters to control them. The aut... read more [+]o wah actually works and is even a rotating speaker effect. These put the Cube to shame. It also has more amp sounds to choose from and is a little more complicated to tweak. The amps are a bit Voxy but anyone who has played digital Vox amps knows that. They still haven't come close to the Marshall circuit in the Roland. But the DA5 is more versatile and I believe more powerful. The power adjusting switch in the back is a nice feature also. I am going to try to hook the Cube into this and see what happens. Both are very nice practice amps that go anywhere. I like to have a guitar and amp within reach anywhere in the house. My advice: Buy both. close [-]
