We're pleased to offer you this beautiful D-55 traditional-style dreadnought acoustic guitar. The D-55 reflects nearly half a century of Guild's master craftsmanship, featuring the kind of tonewoods that give you an unrivaled level of expression and melodic character. This D-55's eye-catching solid AAA spruce top reflects a warm and woody brilliance that speaks volumes about its tonal character. A breathtaking bookmatched Indian rosewood back and matching sides add extra aesthetic finesse as well as mellow overtones, while 12" radius neck and ebony fretboard make the D-55 a pleasure to play.
Guild has been building dreadnought acoustic guitars since the early '60s and their fine products have ever since been revered for their amazingly balanced tones. The little details, like the scalloped red spruce bracing and mother of pearl and abalone block position fret inlays add the kind of finishing touches that make the D-55 stand out as the work of art that it is. And its pure nitrocellulose lacquer finish is guaranteed to age gloriously with your D-55, maturing into continuously richer tonal qualities throughout the years.

Guild d-55 electra
by Gary D. Parker from Wheaton,Il. December 26, 2008 Music Background: Pro musician, recording & singing artist
I bought my Guild D-55 Electra in 1976. This guitar has the most beautiful sounding of any guitar I've played. I tried many guitars over the years and none come close to the D-55 Electra.
