Your chance to own a very special D-18
An American classic, the D-18 dreadnought was introduced in the early 1930s. The D-18 is projects very well, with a bright, clear treble and warm, moderate bass - making it ideal for both recording and stage work. The D-18 75th Anniversary Limited Edition sports a premium Adirondack spruce top and mahogany back and sides, plus a Madagascar rosewood headplate. Birth of an iconic guitar design
In the midst of the Great Depression, Martin managed to create two guitars that have remained incredibly popular to this day; in fact, the D-28 and the D-18 share what has become an iconic design. By introducing the dreadnought body shape into their lineup, Martin brought powerful bass and projection to guitarists - a real plus in an era before electric guitars entered the scene.

Martin quality since 1833
So, why does a Martin sound so good? Consider the fact that the company has been making quality instruments since 1833, and what we might consider "modern" acoustic guitars since early in the 20th century. What's more, the company's commitment to quality has never wavered, so whether you're investing in a brand-new D-18 or inheriting a family heirloom vintage Martin, you know you're getting the best.

Sweetwater Advice

David Hess
A wonderful collector's piece. But the D18 has always been a player's guitar too.  Subtle appointments but... oh, the tone. Each is hand signed by Chris Martin IV.  Ivory, red spruce, the best of Martins' current stash of rosewood veneer, ebony, and mahogany. Own a piece of history.  Mine is #12. Get yours. The sound will explode from your hands.
