MXR's Custom Shop designed the Custom Comp compressor to be a blend of the best aspects of vintage and modern technology. The legendary CA3080 "metal can" IC is used in the Custom Comp to give you an extended dynamic range and tonal transparency. There are also RF suppression components in the Custom Comp to ensure you have interference-free operation.

Internal controls for custom operation
The MXR Custom Comp features two internal controls that allow you to tweak the attack and frequency response to your liking. You don't have to mod this pedal to get your perfect settings, just pop it open and adjust.

True-bypass design for pure tone
When not in use, the MXR Custom Comp's true bypass design takes it completely out of your signal chain. It doesn't run your signal through the entire pedal, but directly from the input to the output. This keeps your signal pure, and your precious tone unaffected. The Custom Comp is awesome even when it is turned off!
