Customer Reviewsfrom Kirkland, WA April 6, 2013Music Background: Studio Owner, Recording Engineer, Live Engineer Big improvement for little cashWe have been having difficulties minimizing the amount of bleed of the hat and cymbals into the snare and tom microphones. We tried many different mic positions and other tricks, all not very effective. We bought four CrashGuards, then spent a little time finding the best placement option. Bleeds have been reduced significantly enough to no longer being an issue at all. Definitely worth the investment if you have to deal with loud cymbals. Please note that these will only work with mic-stands (won't work with universal clip mounts like Sure A75M for example)from Goldsboro NC November 7, 2011Music Background: Recording Engineer, Avalanche Recording Studio Really helped outDrums are always a tough instrument to record. The Primacustic CrashGuards help eliminate over-bleed.from Goshen, IN October 15, 2011Music Background: producer, recording engineer, touring drummer noticable difference.I gave this 4 stars because it didn't change my life, but it is a handy little guy when the drummer wants to bash his hats. Cut hat bleed down considerably on the snare mic. Would be a trick to position on toms unless you have stands that come from above. Is most useful on snare for me, and replaces the makeshift barrier I had designed. Had taken a few solid hits from less-experience drummers with no ill-effects. This makes my job easier.from Nashville, TN April 15, 2011Music Background: Engineer, Mixer, Producer It works!I've used the Crash Guard a couple times now. I wanted to reduce hat bleed in the snare mic, and it certainly does that. I was impressed with how much it actually reduced it. I'm sure it does a fine job protecting your snare mic as well, but that was never really my concern. If you want less hat in your snare mic, this is a very easy solution. |
