I recently got a Voodoolab Control switcher for my G system. I was looking at the RJM Amp gizmo at first, but the price put me off. I picked this little guy up new for only 130 bucks, as opposed to th... read more [+]e 300+ for the RJM unit. It got here about a week later, and it was well worth it. The back panel has a Midi in, a midi out, Four 1/4 inch jacks, and a Multi DIN jack for modern amps. the front has 4 buttons, each with a very bright LED. The footprint of the unit is extremely compact. less than a single rackspace in height, and small enough to fit on a rack drawer with gratuitous room to spare. The entire chassis is made of high quality die-cast steel. Another thing that led me to purchase this over the RJM was the fact that the connection from the Amp to the Switcher was a standard 5 pin MIDI cable, as opposed to the RJM model which necessitated a custom built cable depending on your amp. These cables run you up about 50 bucks, whereas a MIDI cable is anywhere from 5-20 dollars.

So I hooked it in without any issues. MIDI out of my G system to the MIDI in of the Control Switcher, and the DIN Multi jack to the footswitch jack of my Laney VH100R. I set the Control switcher and G system to respond only to program changes on Channel 3, and programming patches could not be easier. Just select the preset on the G System that you wish to edit, and press the buttons on the Control Switcher to the corresponding amp channels/functions, then simply save the patch, and you're set. I found it to be a fantastic unit at an unarguable price, and will save you tons of money in the long run. On a Side note, Voodoolab has superb customer service, so I don't forsee any issues in the near future. close [-]

I placed an order for the Voodoo Lab Control Switcher so I could change the channels on my Mesa Boogie Triple Recto with my Ground Control Pro, it was so easy to set up and works as it should. It mak... read more [+]es no noise, and fits in the back of my custom ata touring case, it even can phantom power you GC-Pro (I use the phantom power from my Eventide Eclipse that I ordered from Sweetwater about 4 years ago another must have item)

Voodoo Lab makes great gear and the customer service from Sweetwater and Voodoo are the best in the industry.
Sweetwater didn't have the Control Switcher in stock, and I could of ordered this from another online company, but I didn't. That tells how great Sweetwater is, I wouldn't buy my gear from any other place. They had me at hello and earned my trust from day one.

Cheers

Our Customers Say...

I can talk to my Sales Engineer about any piece of equipment, and he always steers me in the right direction. He truly knows what he's talking about, and he never tries to over-sell me on anything. If he worked in the Nashville area, I'd probably owe him about 20 dinners by now!
