Good luck finding a better clone.
by jb from new york, ny, October 2007
Music Background: pro keyboard player
I've tried all the clones. This one does it for me. I play it through a motion sound kbr-3d. Wouldn't play it without proper amp. You're gonna need a rotating speaker. The leslei sim. isn't good enough. I also use a speakeasy preamp that kills. Once you beef this puppy up a little, it sounds great. Does it sound like a b3, no, but once you get comfy with the sound, you'll be happy. I'm sure other clones can sound good, but this is the one for me, unless I'm playing the real thing of course.
Pretty Darn Good
by Scott Docherty from Westlake Village, CA USA, November 2006
Music Background: Professional Musician
I've had this keyboard on the road for 3 years now. I needed an alternative to the Hammond C3 I was lugging around, and it has served me well. It is as close as I'd found to a Hammond. I had shyed from clones until this version. The waterfall keys, the feel and action of the drawbars and, especially, the sound has won me over. It is also very durable. I have had no mechanical or elecrical issues in 3 years of heavy use.
I run this through a Motion Sound KBR-3D amp with a real rotating horn (the Leslie sim on the keyboard itself is chessy, as is the overdrive) and have been successful on stage and in the studio with faithfully getting that Hammond sound.
I recently picked up a Nord Stage 76 which has a believable Leslie and great organ sounds. I am hard-pressed to get rid of my CX3, though. Time will tell.

I have owned my CX3 for a little over a year.
The only negative thing I find is the cabinet could have been a little more
durable and the sound is not as accurrate as my new Hammond XK3,but
for the price it gives the Hammond a good run for the money.
Korg CX3
by Jesse Eversole from Chapel Hill, NC, July 2004
I've been using the CX3 for about 2 months. I am a novice on the B3 and the CX3 so I have many more things to learn. I have found this device remarkable in its features and sound. It totally changed the sound of the two bands I play with, for the better you can be assured. I also like it because I can just plug it into an amp without messing with a bunch of midi connections and extra devices that complicate my rig. You of course can program the thing till the cows come home, but you need more time than I have right now for that. I much prefer this package over plugging in midi controllers to sound boxes that require mucho configuration and research to get it to work right. Then you get to enjoy managing all those parts on a gig...
Hammond RE-BORN!
by Ben Allen from Noth Carolina, June 2004
This is one bad little organ! ohh is it not a real organ? My BAD It sure does sound real!
This is the Hammond Monster re-born
If you can think of a sound that that old HAMMONDS CAN MAKE, then the Korg Cx-3 CAN SURE DELIVER that same sound with dead-on accuracy. This baby is WAY better than the "Hammond" a.k.a. Suzuki XK2, and it's miles ahead of there new XK3 as well. THE WATERFALL KEYS ARE just perfect! AND THAT Leslie! ONE word, WOW! this thing has the best leslie simulation of ANY clone out there! And the cool part is, it can do ANY leslie you want.. 122, 145, 50C, WHATEVER!
If you DIG that wonderful Hammond Sound, but don't want a bad back or a bill from the roadies, then the CX-3 is for you!
(note, i DO NOT work for Korg INC, or Korg USA)
I am just a keyboardist/organist who wanted THAT sound, and looked for years and never found it... UNTILL NOW..
Amazing! Just Amazing!
