From Our Research Team:

The Tone Wheel Organ Reborn!

Playing a vintage Hammond organ isn't just about a sound; it's about a feel - it's about being engaged with the instrument. It's like playing a stand-up bass. You gotta dance with it a little. That's why so many keyboardists believe that even the best modeled tone wheel organs have fallen just a little short of the mark. But not the Korg CX3! The unique sound AND feel of the Hammond organ is reborn in the CX3. Not only is the modeling technology dead-on real - so real you'd be frightened if you weren't digging it so much - the keyboard action and response is astounding. Even the controls are just right!

The Korg CX3 modeled tone wheel organ is so close to the real thing it's scary. At less than a tenth the weight of the classic original (yes, the chiropractic association is unhappy about it), you'll want to get to the gig even earlier to play your CX3. State-of-the-art modeling technology delivers the ultimate Hammond experience. Hearing it isn't enough, you have to play the CX3 to believe it. Not only is the action right, the keyboard response is right on. It's time to practice those windmill sweeps and falls!

Korg CX3 Modeled Tone Wheel Organ Features:
  • 128 possible programs for immediate use
  • Drawbars - the backbone of the organ sound

I had a Roland Vk-7,VK-8M ,Hammond XK-3 before Korg CX-3. The sound and 128 presets CX-3 are the best and close to my B-3 and C-3 without hook up to leslie.

Good luck finding a better clone.

I've tried all the clones. This one does it for me. I play it through a motion sound kbr-3d. Wouldn't play it without proper amp. You're gonna need a rotating speaker. Does it sound like a b3, no, but once you get comfy with the sound, you'll be happy. I'm sure other clones can sound good, but this is the one for me, unless I'm playing the real thing of course. close [-]

Pretty Darn Good

I've had this keyboard on the road for 3 years now. I needed an alternative to the Hammond C3 I was lugging around, and it has served me well. It is as close as I'd found to a Hammond. I had shyed fro... read more [+]m clones until this version. The waterfall keys, the feel and action of the drawbars and, especially, the sound has won me over. It is also very durable. I have had no mechanical or elecrical issues in 3 years of heavy use.

I run this through a Motion Sound KBR-3D amp with a real rotating horn (the Leslie sim on the keyboard itself is chessy, as is the overdrive) and have been successful on stage and in the studio with faithfully getting that Hammond sound.

I recently picked up a Nord Stage 76 which has a believable Leslie and great organ sounds. I am hard-pressed to get rid of my CX3, though. Time will tell. close [-]

Korg CX3

I've been using the CX3 for about 2 months. I am a novice on the B3 and the CX3 so I have many more things to learn. I have found this device remarkable in its features and sound. I also like it because I can just plug it into an amp without messing with a bunch of midi connections and extra devices that complicate my rig. You of course can program the thing till the cows come home, but you need more time than I have right now for that. I much prefer this package over plugging in midi controllers to sound boxes that require mucho configuration and research to get it to work right. Then you get to enjoy managing all those parts on a gig... close [-]

Our Customers Say...

Ninety-five percent of everything in this studio came from Sweetwater. My Sales Engineer is a lifesaver. I started working with him around 2005, talking to him about what my vision was for the studio. He was right there all the way.
