DW Collectors Series
The non plus ultra in drum customization, DW's Collectors Series boasts the company's SSC. The result of more than a decade of DW Custom Shop shell technology, SSC incorporates the company's X, VLT, and VLX shell technologies into drums that sound more than the sum of their parts. Naturally, you can special order a custom DW kit anyway you want it, but DW has simplified the process by optimizing particular shell types for each drum size. Juiced with SSC, the DW Collectors Series 8" x 10" Rack Tom gives you stunning impact that sounds amazing.

Maple Specialized Shell Configuration (SSC)
The DW Collectors Series 8" x 10" Rack Tom sports DW's Maple SSC. Maple is a traditional shell material that gives you low-end punch, warmth, and attack. For years, drum makers have preferred maple for its impact and resonant tonal qualities. Starting with the best wood, DW then applies its unique SSC technology to create some of the best-sounding drums ever made. DW found that by alternate orientation of the grain patterns of different plies (vertical, horizontal, and even diagonal) drums could be optimized for their particular specialty, for instance low end response in a kick drum or floor tom.
