The CP50 gives you a collection of the core sounds and technologies of Yamaha's flagship CP1 stage piano and MOTIF XS workstation keyboard, in an affordable instrument that's at home onstage or in the studio. From the flagship CP1, the CP50 gains a selection of voices based on Yamaha's powerful Spectral Component Modeling (SCM). Its 12 primary acoustic and electric piano sounds utilize SCM technology. By virtually re-creating their individual physical components, SCM technology provides you with both the realistic sound and the natural response of these instruments. The result is a level of sound detail that will astonish you, as every nuance of each re-created piano comes to life under your fingertips.

One of the wonderful things about the CP50 is that, in addition to the SCM-based sounds it gets from the CP1, it also includes the Yamaha MOTIF XS workstation's AWM2 Advanced Wave Memory sound engine. This AWM2 sound engine allows the CP50 to provide you with an extended selection of excellent voices. You get over 200 additional instruments, including clavs, organs, strings, and more. The CP50 also gets its incredible 88-key graded hammer-weighted keybed from the MOTIF; it's easily one of the best-feeling and most playable keybeds you'll find on an instrument as affordable as the CP50.

In addition to great sounds, the CP50 offers you the selection of effects and extra functions you'd expect from a Yamaha stage piano. You get both MIDI and audio recording capability, and with 14 rhythm kits and 100 rhythm patterns onboard, you're never without a source of backing material. And when it comes to effects, the CP50 delivers! You get 49 modulation effects and eight glorious-sounding reverb types to enhance your tone. With its extended sound set, incredible feel, and useful performance functions, the highly affordable Yamaha CP50 gives you all the tools you need for both recording and playing live.
