Based on the Original Clyde McCoy Wah Pedal

You'll have the sound of the first wah pedal ever made with the Dunlop Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah pedal. Based on the first Clyde McCoy pedals from the Thomas Organ Company and Jen Electronica, Dunlop's Clyde McCoy wah boasts a throaty voice and wide-ranging sweep. And the tone is sweeter and more stable, thanks to Dunlop's HI01 Halo Inductor that eliminates the microphonics of the original design. And if it can withstand the abuse of the gigging guitarists at Sweetwater, we're sure you'll be impressed with the rock solid construction of the Dunlop Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah too.

Dunlop Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah Pedal at a Glance:
  • You'll have the wah wah sound that started it all
  • Smooth and sweet sound thanks to the HI01 Halo Inductor
  • They don't build 'em like they used to - except for this one
You'll have the wah wah sound that started it all

Countless guitarists have made the wah wah effect their own, but we all have to thank the original Clyde McCoy wah for starting it all. This is the design Dunlop based this Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah on, and its vocal-like sound and wide sweep make it incredibly expressive. Considering Dunlop has over 30 years of experience creating exceptional wah pedals, it's only natural that they're the ones to re-introduce the world to the Clyde McCoy wah sound.

Smooth and sweet sound thanks to the HI01 Halo Inductor

The original Clyde McCoy wah sounded sweet but had issues with microphonics - mechanical sounds and vibrations turning into noise in your signal. It could even lead to harsh feedback. Dunlop created the HI01 Halo Inductor to eliminate these issues, essentially stabilizing key components to prevent microphonics.

They don't build 'em like they used to - except for this one

We've put enough gear to the test here at Sweetwater to know when something is built to last, like the Dunlop Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah. The rugged housing feels like you could hammer nails with it, and the pot, switch, and jacks are all top-shelf components. And because the through-hole circuit design is stronger than surface-mounted electronics, you can expect many reliable years of service from this road-ready wah pedal.

Dunlop Clyde McCoy Cry Baby Wah Wah Pedal Features:
  • Wah pedal for electric guitar, based on the original Clyde McCoy wah
  • Smoother sound than the original, thanks to the HI01 Halo Inductor which eliminates microphonics
  • Rugged build quality, with premium pot, switch, and jack
  • Electronics are built to last, with through-hole circuit design that's stronger than surface-mounted designs
  • Vocal-like tone with a wide sweep range

Listen to a Teese first.

I'm just going by the video here. But I've been using wah pedals for 40 years and have drooled of real Clyde McCoy pedals for decades.
This Dunlop sounds just like my Thomas Organ pedal from the early 70s, which is a fine pedal, but you can buy them all day long on eBay for a lot less.
To get the Still Raining, Still Dreaming wah sound .... you need to keep looking. The best pedals I've seen for this kind of sound is either the Teese RMC2 or the RMC10. Still....they are not perfect, but supposedly Hendrix was using a Clyde McCoy to get that tone and Teese seems to come the closest.
The Dunlop sounds like any other Dunlop, and so doesn't warrant this price. Teese is similarly priced and gets a lot more range.

The real Correction!

"not just my opinion" Sorry bud, but it is just your option. It kill me the way these guys come off saying rather strongly.. their way is the only way. How REM10 blows away the Dunlop.
I bought an REM10 and let me tell you the truth, It ant bad. That's it.
However I think the CM95 just out tones it.
Everything he said about the REM10 being 3D and so on, actually applies more to the CM95.
Without going into such unnecessary detail, It is just my option not about construction or build just about tone and tone only.. the CM95 sound much closer to what you hear on all those old records we all know and love. It does have a very singing, musical quality about it.
Try them both and here for yourself.
Music background: Weekend gigger & tone seeker.
