Currently the best mini mic for acoustic guitars...

The C 516 ML is the newer generation mini mic from AKG, coming after the C 416. While the 416 was an incredible mic for internal installation for acoustic guitars, the 516 has more gain output, and clearer reproduction, making live guitar sound quite enjoyable. More and more transducer manufacturers are producing "combo" systems (piezo/mic or magnetic/mic) with their own mics. But none of these mics come close to the 516--the 516 is unbeatable. I'm very impressed with both its quality and pricing. The one drawback is that the mounting base of the 516 is too small for this type of application, and even when glued with superglue to the inside of the guitar, there is still a risk that gravity and/or airport folks could knock it loose. The 416 base was wider and much more adequate for installation in the guitar cavity.
