This Hand-built Blue Mic is Great for Recording Almost Anything!

Here's a gorgeous-looking mic from Blue that's also a jaw-dropping value. If you're already familiar with Blue, then you may know of their reputation for making attractive microphones with uncompromising sound quality. Most Blue microphones are specifically engineered to perform exceptionally well for specific applications. The Bluebird lives up to Blue's reputation in every way except one. When you get a Bluebird, you get a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser that sports the same renowned microphone technology Blue is know for, but with astonishing versatility.

By using discrete Class A circuitry, the Bluebird offers you high-output and a frequency response that flatters most sound sources, from vocals to acoustic and electric instruments. Its detailed midrange makes most vocals stand out in the mix, and brings out the warmer qualities in brass and higher stringed instruments, while its rich low end and clear presence is excellent for acoustic guitars, close-miked percussion, and amplifiers. And at its affordable price, you can easily pick up a pair of Bluebirds to capture drum overheads and acoustic pianos in their full splendor.

Each beautiful Bluebird large-diaphragm condenser microphone you buy comes with a full accessory package. The Blubird Accessory Pak comes with Blue's specially designed shockmount, the BirdNest, and an excellent metal pop filter called a BirdCage. You also get an exquisite cherry wood storage box to keep your Bluebird safe — all at an exceptionally low price!

I needed to find a studio recording mic that was quality but cheap. I spent a week searching and reading reviews and researching and eventually chose this mic, the Bluebird. The first thing I recorded... read more [+] was me playing an acoustic guitar into it. I've had a bit of experience with recording acoustic guitar and I wanted to see how this mic stands up against others I've used before. Without mastering or any alterations at all, I listened to my recording and it sounded absolutely fantastic. In comparison to a professional recording of the song I played, my recording needed a bit of compression and that's about it. I've spent a few months using this mic now and it has been better than I've ever dreamed of. I've raved about it to fellow sound engineers and showed off it's recordings with responses of Oohs and Ahhs and "HOW MUCH DID THAT COST!?!?!?!"
I'll be using this mic for many years. Even when my budget rises and I'm able to afford top of the line mics, I'll keep this in the shelf with the best of the best because that's exactly what it is. I use it for voiceovers, occasional foley, acoustic guitar, and singing. I'm sure I'll get many more uses out of it in the years to come. close [-]

Our Customers Say...

I can talk to my Sales Engineer about any piece of equipment, and he always steers me in the right direction. He truly knows what he's talking about, and he never tries to over-sell me on anything. If he worked in the Nashville area, I'd probably owe him about 20 dinners by now!
