From Our Research Team:Rock It Like You Talk It!The Banshee gives the classic "Talk Box" a much-needed update! This is the Talk Box you know and love, just like the one you remember seeing on stage at that Aerosmith concert circa 1977, with the mouth tube. But unlike older Talk Boxes, the Banshee is extremely reliable. It features its own internal pre-amp, amp, and horn driver. Just plug in your Banshee and you're ready to make your guitar sing, talk, and create freaky sounds. Dial in a range of clean or dirty preamp tones with plenty of saturation if you want it. You can turn your pedal board into a great practice setup with enough volume to seriously crank it.Bringing a cool, new twist to the outdated generation of complicated and risky talk boxes, the Banshee is a unique new product that gives classic rock touches to the 90's players. Although "talk boxes" have been used in the making of hit music (Aerosmith, Frampton, Joe Walsh, etc.) for years, many guitar players simply have not tried them because of their complicated and potentially damaging setup. Leave it to the stomp box gurus at Rocktron. The Banshee rocks, simply and safely. What makes the Banshee so unique is that it contains its own internal preamp, amplifier, and horn driver. You simply plug into the Banshee like you would any common stomp box, and run the provided "tubing" up the mic stand and into your mouth. The rest is up to your own imagination as you get the most incredible sounds from your instrument. And no more risk of blowing up your favorite amp head, (always a possibility with talk boxes of old). The Banshee's preamp section features controls for gain, tone, and output level. A wide range of clean and dirty preamp tones may be dialed in with plenty of saturation for those who desire lots of gain. Guitar World Magazine wrote: "The Banshee's high-gain preamp and focused tone control allow for excellent enunciation and sustain. With minimal practice, I was able to create clear words and open vowels, and I could readily see how anyone could become addicted to this effect." Not only does the Banshee scream in the talkbox mode, but Rocktron has also included an extra jack for hookup with an extension pedal speaker. Plugging a speaker cabinet to this output turns your pedal board into a perfect practice setup with enough volume to do some pretty serious cranking! NOTE: Due to the personal nature of this product it is non returnable.

This is somewhat of a limited effect because you obviously won't use it all the time but, when you do be prepared to see heads roll and, eyes look your way. Basicly any type of mouth movement will create a very unique type of sound, I mean the sky is the limit. I have used this effect in just about any type of rock song, blues, even a country song, it;s a blast! Simple to hook up and, use and, built like a Hum V, this thing is heavy. Kinda like a snowblower, you won't use it a lot but when you do it's enjoyable and, no other effect can simulate it. A wah pedal might come close but, it's just not going to get all the variations that you can control with your mouth. close [-]

I have to say that this thing is as solid as a rock. Literally! The build quality is off the chart. The sound is very usable and will only open up doors that you thought about knocking on.

I got my hands on a Banshee after listening to a lot of Blackstreet. I was definitely pleased with the sound I got. It's significantly different than the "T-Pain" effect that's achieved using pitch correction software and adds another dimension to my productions. Definitely a great auxilary effect to have in the arsenal!October 27, 2008 Music Background: Recording Engineer/Producer Tip: Try using it with a saxophone sound on your keyboard. December 12, 2012 Music Background: Gigging guitarist Anyway, that thing hooked right up to the speaker output for your amp. I just happened to use a 50W Marshall plexi at the time. Talk about loose fillings! The Bag didn't last long though. Now this Banshee, seems like a cool piece of gear. Does the same thing the Bag did except it's a stomp box with bypass. It is it's own little amplifier with tone & gain to spare. I REALLY like it! It even has a speaker out to drive a cab, how cool is that?? I'm glad I spied it on Sweetwater for an awesome price & free shipping. I jumped on it! This wasn't my first dealing with Sweetwater and sure won't be my last. close [-] Also popular
