Necks aren't just part of a bass, they are the heart of the bass. The neck feel and playability can make or break an otherwise great instrument. The Ibanez BTB1405E incorporates a 7-piece maple/bubinga/walnut neck that offers you killer stability, playability, and tone. Ibanez basses have long been known for their excellent necks. Not satisfied to just attach the neck to the BTB1405E, Ibanez utilized neck-through construction, which gives you better vibrational and tonal transfer throughout the entire instrument. Tone-enhancing appointments
A slightly longer 35" scale gives the BTB1405E superior articulation and helps provide more tension and a better feel on the 5th string. Formerly found on boutique basses only, this extended scale length will provide you with a better playing experience on lower strings. The Ibanez BTB1405E packs the ultra-innovative Mono-rail IV bridge with locking saddles, which allows each string to fully vibrate without any interference with the other strings. That means that no matter how fast you play across the strings, each note will ring clear and true.

Whether you're playing slap-heavy funk, or warmly muted reggae tones, the BTB1405E's pair of Nordstrand Big Single pickups have you covered. These pickups have a rich and solid character to them, with powerful sound-shaping potential from the onboard EQ-IIISC controls. You have control over boost/cut for bass, mid, and high frequencies, with a mid-frequency switch to fine-tune your midrange tone.
