I Play these drums in big Vegas production. These drums have the stick articulation that most Maple kits are to warm to project. The more I play these drums the more I love them. I really lay into the... read more [+]m, and they just take my head off with tone and attack. If your lucky enough to play these drums through a stadium size P. A. system, you will hear and feel the lows in your body as well as through the arena. If you hit the drums hard and have some good hands, these drums will allow your technique to be heard! With beautiful tone!!! Maple kits sound great, but I have found that the tone gets in the way of stick articulation at times. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion. If your more of a mellow, melodic player, the Maple Starclassic would be a better fit for your style. Bubinga's can be really loud or very soft. Its up to you. That's what works for me! FYI....The B/B's are really, really close to the Starclassic Bubinga's. If you want to pay half the price, pick them up... you wont be disappointed. Hope this helps some of you guys!! close [-]
