We bought this mic to replace an A-T 892, which has a longer stalk. The sound quality is excellent. Compared to the 892, it is more sensitive, so we had to back off the gain a bit. We are always challenged with picking up the bride and groom's vows during weddings. This mic may help with that. The mic hides well, and seems to be comfortable, based on the lack of fidgeting. These are great mics. They are very thin, and therefore delicate... our 892 broke in two due to being "readjusted" too many times, so this shorter version will help. They definitely can't be handled rough like an SM58. But they give great sound quality in a discrete package. close [-] Great product
