We bought this mic to replace an A-T 892, which has a longer stalk. The sound quality is excellent. Compared to the 892, it is more sensitive, so we had to back off the gain a bit. It seems to have be... read more [+]tter low-end response than the 892, maybe because it sits right on the cheek bone... but the extra "boom" makes our pastor sound more authoritative, so that's good!September 30, 2011 Music Background: Live sound engineer, praise band musician It also seems to pick up more sound in front of the wearer... this could be a problem for some users, but for a pastor, it might be helpful. We are always challenged with picking up the bride and groom's vows during weddings. This mic may help with that. The mic hides well, and seems to be comfortable, based on the lack of fidgeting. These are great mics. They are very thin, and therefore delicate... our 892 broke in two due to being "readjusted" too many times, so this shorter version will help. They definitely can't be handled rough like an SM58. But they give great sound quality in a discrete package. close [-] Great product
