Turn Your Guitar into an Organ!

Rarely have we seen such an instantly likable guitar effects pedal at Sweetwater as the electro-harmonix B9 Organ Machine. Not only does this pedal transform your guitar tone into one of nine classic organ tones with jaw-dropping realism, it performs like a champ. We're talking about zero tracking problems, glitches, mistriggers, or false notes. What's more, each setting has an appropriate modulation effect built in, such as rotary speaker, tremolo, or vibrato, and you can add in organ percussion or key click sounds with a dedicated control. Top it off with two great ways you can blend in your dry guitar signal, and it's no wonder the ehx B9 Organ Machine has become an instant classic.

electro-harmonix B9 Organ Machine Guitar Effects Pedal at a Glance:
  • A 6-pack of tonewheel organs provides a wide range vintage vibe
  • Three additional classic organ sounds expand your tonal palettee
  • Two killer ways to mix your guitar with your organ effects
A 6-pack of tonewheel organs provides a wide range vintage vibe

The first six presets in the B9 Organ Machine are variations on the classic tonewheel organ that set the standard for electric organ sound. Fat & Full adds an octave above and below, instantly doubling the size of your guitar tone. Jazz offers you a more subtle and smooth sound - think Jimmy Smith. Pull out the upper bars, and you've got the sound of the Gospel setting, whereas a health dose of distortion the Classic Rock setting recalls Procal Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale." If, on the other hand, you prefer a sound closer to Sugarloaf's "Green Eyed Lady," then switch to the Bottom End setting and dial up the Click control. Lastly, the Octaves preset provides an octave above for a more Zeppelin vibe, and when you roll on the Click, you also get higher harmonics. All of these presets are total winners, and what's more, each of includes a classic rotary speaker effect, whose speed you can control with the Mod knob.

Three additional classic organ sounds expand your tonal palettee

But the fun doesn't stop with the B9 Organ Machine's tonewheel emulations. In fact, electro-harmonix infused this awesome guitar effects pedal with three additional gems. First up, there's the Cathedral organ setting, which gushes forth with the ambient-rich sound of a historical pipe organ. Here's a Sweetwater pro tip for you: crank up the reverb on your amp and you'll totally blown away. Of course a rotary speaker effect wouldn't due, so ehx gave this preset a tremolo setting instead, with depth control on the Click knob. Next up, there's the Continental setting, which conjures up a classic transistor organ tone that'll have you figuring out the chords to "House of the Rising Sun" in minuets. That preset gets a smooth vibrato effect, also with depth control on the Click knob. Last up is the B9 Organ Machine's Bell Organ setting, which layers a chimey EP on top of a tonewheel organ. It also gets a tremolo effect, and you can blend in as much bell or chime as you like with the Click knob.

Two killer ways to mix your guitar with your organ effects

Now, there's no denying that the ehx B9 Organ Machine's effects are absolutely awe inspiring, but you can really work some magic by blending in your dry guitar tone into the mix. Lucky for you, electro-harmonix decided to give you two cool ways to do this. If you're like most of us, and you only gig with a single amp, then you can simply blend the two sounds together via the designated Dry and Organ knobs. But, if you're in the studio or you're more of a high-tech guitarist, then you'll appreciate the B9 Organ Machine's dual outputs, which let you run two amps or set up more complex pedalboard configurations. And if you're looking for a way to put that to good use, just give your Sweetwater Sales Engineer a call - you're bound to get some great suggestions.

EHX B9 is the greatest Organ Machine in Town

I love it so much that I... super-power it!
You can do it by yourself (have a look at instructables)
With or without modification it is the most realistic organ you can reproduce with your guitar, bass or even electric piano.

EHX B9 pedal

The B9 by EHX has many useful selections.i It performs very well in all selections. It does take some time to adjust your guitar playing style to the response in the organ format, but once you do it is fun to work with. It works with finger picking or with a regular pick. Tracks very well at all speeds. If you are a song writer it gives you new ideas for songs. Overall a fun pedal for guitar players.
Music background: Long time guitar player indifferent groups over the years

B-9 Organ Pedal

Could not be more satisfied. A friend has a guitar synthe. The B-9 is nicer AND easier to use. Now if EH would just come out with a sax pedal, I would be in heaven.
Music background: Old, semi-retired but still very active musically.

Sound like Organ Machine.

This B9 pedal sound and react better with tubes amps than solid state amps (I use a Marshall DSL40 or Fender 57 custom Deluxe) with a Stratocaster and that sound pretty good. My favorite preset is 7 Cathedral played with old Pink Floyd song or you can do as well Deep purple song too with preset 4, some Led Zeppelin and almost everything else with your inspiration.
I have lots of fun with this pedal because (my opinion) that sound realistic to my hear. Can't wait to use it on Stereo. More than $$ with the power corde can be pricey depend on what do you do with... Me, I'm happy with :)
Cheers guys!

Awesome Pedal!

This pedal is great fun. The sound is a pretty realistic of an organ. For me, it serves as an excellent motivator to practice new pieces. It also helps me to play more slowly due to the wonderful sustain it has and also because if I play too many notes too quickly it becomes a bit muddled—the "carrot and the stick" so to speak. All nine instrument settings sound great but my favorites are cathedral and continental. Toccata and Fugue in D minor and Hagrid's Theme (Harry Potter) lend themselves beautifully to this pedal. Outstanding service from Sweetwater once again—Thanks!
