What a great plug-in. It carries you back to the day when the B3 ruled the earth. It emulates everything about the B3 - all three manuals, the vibrato, percussion and keyclick, and the Leslie cabinet.... read more [+] In fact you get to adjust the sound of the Leslie in many ways you could never do in real life - "mic" distance, tone controls and more. It includes an emulated tube overdrive and you can adjust drive and tone there too.
August 1, 2004 Music Background: It can work great as a standalone app if you want to take a laptop to a gig and play it live (no more hauling around a heavy organ), although I mainly use it inside Logic. It runs as a VST plug for Windows and Mac OS 9, and as an audio unit (AU) as well as VST in OS X. It has always worked well for me, and the sound is superb. The Leslie gives you chills. I should mention that the effects (Leslie, overdrive) can be used as an insert plug-in in your DAW software, thus you can send any audio you want through that great Leslie! Great for guitarists who want to sound like Hendrix, Frampton, etc. or when you need that psychedelic vocal sound on your record! Make sure to add on the additional tonewheel set (optional) - it allows the B4 to emulate other organs, including the Farfisa and the Vox Continental! The only problem I ever had with the B4 was some squealing feedback when I used it in Logic 6.3.1 (OS X) as an AU. The problem went away as soon as I updated to Logic 6.3.3. Other than that, I've used the B4 since Logic 4.7.x in OS 9, and 5 & 6 in OS X and it's performed great! Truly awesome plug-in. close [-]
